necromancerI know Carti claims to be a punk rockstar but he's truly just a puppet of the corporate American mainstream music industry, which is the antithesis of the genre.
He holds no anti-capitalist/imperialist/corporate sentiments, probably looks down on the poor and downtrodden as "people that should try harder", while he mingles with rich socialites (except his goons that are hired guns out of the blood hoods in Atlanta, which have to put food on the table in some way). Known to exploit the labor of his fellow collaborators without proper compensation (Mexikodro and UnoTheActivist).
I say this as a fan of Carti and I enjoy his work and the imagery/aesthetic works well with his latest album.

But nah punk made a come back after SoundCloud era rappers tried to incorporate it in their music. A lot of older punk/alt has been getting a lot of spins by the youth
