Idk 50 and Eminem always came off like brands being on aftermath
Kendrick doesn’t even give off that aftermath vibe or brand type image
Anderson PAAK doesn’t either. I guess it’s a new era
Is Anderson Paak the first aftermath artist to flop ? Besides the firm
I feel like he was the same as The Game, FORCED into a group for the image/sells
Just like Interscope/Dre found Game and put him into G Unit for the image
Interscope found Kendrick and forced him into Dr. Dre
Which is why Dre has very little interaction with Kendrick (as a producer)
It’s industry s***, what y’all would call an Industry Plant

.Paak has 3 Grammys and sold out Madison Square Garden
He's not a flop

This is wrong. Dre was one of the key components in Kendrick being discovered. Like before section 80 even came out.
And I’m pretty sure he executive produced every Kendrick album and even has production creds on multiple songs lmao
Hittman
Hittman never released a project on Aftermath tho. His album was solid but I can see why it never came out.

Anderson Paak is no flop tho. You could consider Truth Hurts a flop but I dont know how high their expectations were at the time. Addictive was pretty big back then
I love her album tho, lowkey one of my favorite RnB albums oat

I just googled him and found out he released 2 ALBUMS on aftermath Jesus Christ
I could see why Dre signed him but nobody tryna hear that s*** , especially a whole album , dude is talented no doubt but the people want hits not some OutKast C***shit

??? Wtf lmao
GKMC kinda felt like an Aftermath debut to me back then but I think that was the only Kendrick Aftermath release that Dre was really involved in. He and Ali mixed most of the album together iirc
But he reps TDE mostly. Aftermath aint a squad like back then, its like Roc a fella and Roc Nation now. I mean Roc Nation is more than a label but it was a whole different feeling of unity back then and the artists really represented the roc

Besides what everyone already mentioned, Paak has also sold out shows worldwide and has the most viewed NPR Tiny Desk concert OAT.
For the type of music he makes (mostly vintage Soul) he's doing great.

people like to forget that they pretty much brought the game to 50 and told him to give him a hit album
