His last album Ventura was legit music for super grown adults and I mean those who have already had kids for a while and have really been through it

He was talking about trying to save his marriage and s***. Had feats like Jazmine Sullivan, Lalah Hathaway and Smokey Robinson that mainly ppl who are 35+ listen to

Like bruh I'm one of the oldest posters on KTT and even I couldn't relate to the subject matter yet. Still found it touching bc it was so real tho.

Nah I love his music. Ventura was great and I f***ed with the free nationals album too.

When I said flop I was talking purely from a commercial standpoint. I don’t see him having the big first weeks or going platinum

    Real

It was my AOTY or at least close to it and I didn't mean you in particular, I just meant that I get why KTT doesn't obsess over the album lol it wasn't an album for this type of demographic.

This is wrong. Dre was one of the key components in Kendrick being discovered. Like before section 80 even came out.

And I’m pretty sure he executive produced every Kendrick album and even has production creds on multiple songs lmao

That’s everything the label wants you to believe lol

Hittman never released a project on Aftermath tho. His album was solid but I can see why it never came out.

    He flopped

He was on every track on 2001 album and never got pushed since

people like to forget that they pretty much brought the game to 50 and told him to give him a hit album

Tbh Game probably would've got shelved or dropped if he didn't get to work with 50.

Between 50 and Kendrick, if we put aside Game, Aftermath hadn't made a Superstar in 9 years (03-12).

Rae, Busta, Rakim, Joell Ortiz, and Eve were all on Aftermath in that era and I think Busta was the only one who was able to drop an album.

Not to say Game couldn't have rebounded with another label but idk the chances of The Documentary dropping if 50 wasn't as big as he was at the time and signed to Aftermath.

It's the new era of Aftermath. Hope YBN Cordae gets signed soon

    You don't like good music?

KTT and most young rap fans can't vibe to it if it's not a trap beat or dark trap & b sounding beat tbh

  • Mar 31, 2020

Yes cause he's not dropping music

  • Paak last album won a Grammy

Everybody I know thinks The Doc is his best album.. I know a few people who do rate the DA over it but yeah, I personally don't think he would have an album that touches the The Doc.

While I type this I realize there is like three versions of the RED album and I mean yeah its pretty good and I'm sure kids would argue its great but I mean.

Looking back Aftermath pushed a 50 and Em imagine, signed other talent to line them up with them but overall it never really worked.

He left the label in 2000 or 2001 and never released a project on there. Do you know how many artists Aftermath had that never dropped a project? There's probably like 20 and some were way bigger than Hittman like Eve and Rakim
