I hope you realize your statement contradicts itself.
So there’s trusting people in the world yet she wouldn’t trust her maid she’s known wayyyyyy longer than this random new guy?
The evidence is in front of her
It’s not contradictory, she’s simple enough to be deceived by their schemes
i think its goofiness works for it. the movie doesn't feel like its trying to be super grounded/plausible
the whole thing feels like a tall tale or like an urban legend almost
The evidence is in front of her
It’s not contradictory, she’s simple enough to be deceived by their schemes
Lol I already pointed out what her “evidence” was. A random nigga saying she got TB. And a magically placed napkin wit fake blood

The “there’s trusting people” was contradictory. Cus why wouldn’t she trust her own long term maid?
And yall do realize the son had the hardest time (technically) getting the job even tho he has the strongest recommendation. It’s like the man got dumber and dumber as the story progressed.
Honestly that’s when the theme kicked in for me, after getting into discussions with others about it.
I have no problem with that, watching something so layered that it takes a few views to get it. But sometimes I question “is that the theme cus it actually is, or are people just saying it is so I believe them”
Post discussions and a***ysis should just add to the experience of watching a film, but it will never be more important than what you actually get while watching it imo.

She trusts the new person who planted a seed of doubt that was proven by damning evidence in her eyes over a holdover from the past owners who would have reasons to hide something like TB from the family.
Not contradictory.

Lol ok fam. Btw you just made up your own narrative for the past owners

No I didn’t
You literally said yourself the maid was there before the Park family
No I didn’t

Yeah that was stated in the movie. I’m not sure where this narrative of her having reasons to believe the past owners hid s*** from her came from

Wait are you saying the past owners hid the “TB” from her or did I read wrong?

I’m saying the maid is the one with reasons to hide brother
I’m saying the maid is the one with reasons to hide brother
Okay my bad I misread. Thought you was saying the past owners was tryna hide s***
You can apply this to every movie
the ending bothered me more
yeah the garden party scene is horrendous, really got close to spoiling it for mine
this is why I only watch documentaries
My mum, who grew up in India, actually said stuff like that was pretty commonplace. Many incidents of people falsifying records to get family members jobs with their same employer.
Obviously it occurs in a very rapid way in the movie. But i mean thats just necessary of course.
If you ignore all of the arguments such as it being a fictional movie and it actually intended as being over the top and other extremely valid points, you still have lots of "unrealistic" films based on true stories.
Prime example is "Catch Me If You Can". Sure aspects of it, events and all might be over exaggerated due to the medium but it's a movie about a teen con artist where you can easily write it off as being unrealistic but man was really out here doing these things.

To me there’s different levels of “unrealistic”...I tend to not like the type where the plan seems too perfect, and s*** just magically goes perfectly right.
nitpicking to the f***ing max theres a dude who lives in the f***ing basement in that movie its not about how realistic the job is its about the over arching storylines hes trying to tell
does the schemes in indiana jones seem to unrealistic?
I’m watching this movie for like the 100th time, and I still love it and I get it’s a movie but the way the explorer infiltrates the indigenous peoples culture to get artifacts seems a little too convenient and eye rolling at times. Anyone else agree?
