Makes sense tbh. Everything I learn from back in those days just makes me appreciated Dre that much more. Truly the GOAT
Snoop even says Dre is a true visionary producer, not just a beat maker which people think of when they think production. The only issues I have with Dre is him taking credit for s*** made by other producers, like Daz Dillinger, Barney Rubble, etc.
D.O.C. wrote Snoop’s best music IMO but he’s always been a solid freestyler in his prime.

I've stopped baiting drek stans, for the most part
Great thread @op made me wanna go back and listen to some vintage snoop
My takeaway from these threads is how much of a d*** Dr. Dre is lol
He keeps scrapping good projects with artists he works with
He underpaid The D.O.C. and didn't help his career even though he always wrote for him
He didn't testify in Snoop's trial
And he criticized The Doggfather, when he could've easily worked with Snoop and fixed it, c'mon
Also he hates fans
i think snoop is a chemistry kind of guy
you put him with the right team and it's magic
feel like he's one of those actors who great directors look forward to working with because they can see his true gifts
Haha he's like Adam Sandler, extremely rich and successful and a household name, but everyone knows he peaked in the 90's and now has mostly bad movies with the occasional good movie, because he's a good actor when he actually tries

You don’t make it to the 1% being nice
No rapper in history comes close to 92-94 Snoop /
Certainly up there. His run doesn’t get talked about enough. KTT loves numbers, Snoop was doing them numbers fr lol

Technically, a number of rappers have had bigger peaks/runs.
But, when you factor in the era Snoop peaked in, what he did was super impressive.
In the late 90's/early 2000's, hip hop was very commercial(P Diddy and Eminem play a role in that but that's for another topic) and rappers were going multi plat like crazy just off of hot singles. Even Chingy went double plat on his debut.
Snoop blew up in a time where rappers were lucky to go plat, even with hot singles and the biggest sellers were very poppy like Hammer and Vanilla Ice. But PM Dawn who literally had a number 1 song only went Gold.
Snoop sold close to a mill first week as a gangsta rapper talking about "G's Up, Hoes down" with Crip affiliation and had a whole movie based on his murder charge in an era where rap was wasn't anywhere near as commercial as it became.
Also, Doggystyle is undercertified and it technically sold 7-8 million copies in the USA.

Yeah and as somebody said on the first page he was first to really do numbers like that without going the Hammer route.
