out of all religions it speaks to me the most, the goal is to reach enlightenment, detach yourself from the material world because all it brings is suffering, and once you reach that you won't have to exist (i.e. suffer) anymore
I liked the idea of reaching peace on this world and only ascending from it, rather than praying and sinning back and forth until God decides to send you to either heaven and hell
I agree that the material world is but an illusion but I don't think existence should be called suffering because of that, we create our own reality so I see it as an opportunity to have as much fun and do as much good as you can cause the deeper down the rabbit hole you go the more you realize the rabbit hole isn't even real
Alice Coltrane is Flying Lotus’s aunt too. Are him and doja related?
edit: oh they’re two different people
She was a practicing coon for multiple years as well
Y’all getting old with this
I swear most of the successful musicians always end up having some relatives or something that are in the industry or have connections there

to be on the level of one of these people, you almost always have to be born into a large amount of connections or wealth. Doja doesnt talk about it much but her mom's (Jewish) side of her family is fairly rich. same with Bilie Eilish's family, Ariana Grande's literal billionaire great grandparents.. There's 2 ways to break into the entertainment industry, having a lot money and knowing the right people. if you have both and you're skilled you have a large chance of success.

lol Doja must've wanted the bag more than enlightenment
Idk how you practice Hindu for four years under Alice Coltrane and only make pop songs about p****, but hey, the songs are pretty good.

Existence isnt suffering in buddhism. Dukka is. Dukka means stress, and stress is an everyday thing.
the buddha basically said “we experience stress alot of our lives”
its like how alot people view the buddhist concept of emptiness as something depressing or nihilistic. It just got lost in translation
But yea buddhism easily the goated “religion” although it is a practice as well as it is a religion. You can practice bhuddism secularly as there is no dogmatic god figure at the helm
