Yeah it's super common, you notice it with a lot of celebrities, at the time early on it was just a coincidence because of many prominent figures in the 60s-70s being Jewish and the rise of eastern spiritualism in popularity in the west (particularly US & UK), but its one of those things thats managed to persist way past that, even outside of the realm of celebrity. It's way more common with jewish people than secular christian equivalent.
