The sentiment of "anti-corporation" makes sense, but the way people execute this idea is atrocious. If someone really cares about a local economy and a strong community: then go shop at local businesses. Don't go stealing from places you "hate", you're just making yourself look like an idiot and ruining it for others!
Also while were at it: "anti-capitalism" people are the biggest hypocrites on this planet. Tweeting all this weird socialist nonsense from their iPhone 14 Pro and sipping Starbucks is ridiculous.

and there is nuance but living in a small town and you choosing between a big corporation and mom/pop store still isn’t some big crusade you think it is lol.
by all means support the local store if you desire but they still exploit their workers too.
If anything corporations are smart and will just keep Atleast 1 or 2 stores like that in business just so they can’t be called a monopoly.

All that's being said is it's easier to invoke change for a local economy over a nation wide one.
If employees are being exploited at a local level, news gets around a lot faster and the business suffers a lot harder.

i worked at a starbucks and drank the remainders of a bunch of drinks i purposely put too much of each ingredient in the blender or whatever so that i could try it all for myself , suffice to say i don't feel that i am missing out on anything .

i happen to believe that enormous progress is possible in regards to achieving many of the bullet points on the average american left wingers socio-political agendas if a few simple and reasonable modifications to the tax code and other budgetary concerns were implemented ; in other words , if corporations and the billionaire class were taxed appropriately , and we stopped outspending the second and third most expensive world militaries by a factor of 10 the way we have for decades , we as a country could make america a more equitable and decent nation again .

this isn't a phase , my presence in this country is the result of my paternal uncle being abducted and murdered in my ancestral homeland of ethiopia by a self - fashioned marxist - leninist dictator by the name of mengistu hailemariam , who like many other african political leaders of the era , was a military colonel or some sort of ranking officer to that effect who came to power having deposed the emperor in a coup and proceded to murder hundreds of thousands of so-called dissidents who in reality amounted to a bunch of high school and college students who made the mistake of passing out flyers and other massive infractions like those , mistakes they paid for with their lives , my uncle having been 17 when he was murdered by the communist regime .
i am the child of a man and woman who came to this country seeking political asylum from a murderous government proclaiming to liberate the country they fled from by way of socialist revolution , and i have quite literally had family killed on account of their proximity to a government supposedly governed by my political beliefs , yet you think my political identity is some sort of fashionable quirk that i will grow out of . i hope you understand you could not be any further from the truth if you tried
