Man said that BTI is raps OK Computer
actually like the comparison, can you think of one better?
I think it’s funny that he’s still insecure abt being the ‘black guy who only hangs out with white people’ that’s followed him his whole career
he’s said himself that he’s the most insecure person he knows lol
I feel like that scene in S3E1 of Earn waking up with White shorty after dreaming about evil white women was art imitating life, same thing with some of Alfred’s storylines about adjusting to fame - DG expresses a lot of his own issues in his work. he’s not afraid to be vulnerable and that’s why his s*** is so fire
Feels like this was crafted to get his haters riled up and its working
what about the fans that actually care about what he has to say? f*** them right?
You niggas complaining about pretentious artists while constantly deepthroating kanye is hilarious
He’s lucky Hiro is a goat and hood brother is a fantastic writer. Also that Atlanta had an amazing casting director. The cast and crew have an an all time carry job for him
i have such a love/hate relationship with Gambino man. there's no doubt he's a creative individual with a lot of great material, but then there's s*** that he does/says that makes me wince
unreal to me how good atlanta is considering the rest of his creative output/what he says
his cowriters on that show are putting in work!
I think this is cool and interesting tbh
If Ye did this y’all would be bigging it up
150%%%%
Is having an interview with yourself the signal that you’re up your own ass?
Vincent Gallo and Sharon Stone have ones like this too.
got a girl on my arm dude show respect, something crazy and asian, virginia tech
Because the Internet was literally like 6 years ahead of its time tho lol. Who else made a album about depression via internet before him
Bro what do yall be talking about on here
actually like the comparison, can you think of one better?
BTI has not been cherished by the rap community or the critics at large the way that OK Computer was for rock. You can't just say an album is 'prescient' and then not really dig in, especially when there's more to its cultural impact than that.
what did he say
In some recent tweets of yours you reference Dave.
Yeah.
Do you dislike that show?
No! I like that show. But it does bother me when Atlanta’s compared to it.
Why?
You have to think of it like food.
You mean it’s a different flavor.
No. Although I do feel like the flavor is artificial in some sense. The organic show should be about a white rapper who’s more successful than his Black peers from the jump. Because he’s more accessible. But what he actually wants is to be part of the culture, but his success keeps him from that and a lot of his Black peers and friends resent him for it but also feel like they have to f*** with him because it’s good for them. That’s the internal struggle I see. Anyway.
That’s the Donald version of Dave.
Yeah. It’s sadder. What are you gonna do?
So you think Dave should be your version of the show?
No, it should be what it is. Like, people think I’m pretentious. I can be a snob. But I think in entertainment or art it’s important to know the difference between things. Like, Anthony Bourdain wasn’t pretentious, but he definitely knew the difference between a dry aged wagyu and a smash burger. Neither is better or worse than the other. They’re just different experiences. And I wouldn’t want to have either every day. But I would never confuse the two. I expect the same of my audience.
what about the fans that actually care about what he has to say? f*** them right?
Not at all, I think he knew his fans would appreciate it but he also knew how his haters would react. Dude is incredibly self aware
Ktt hates people being proud of themselves because most of u could NEVER imagine that for yourself so you resent it
