Now I understand you. Selfishness is literally the only reason to be a republican nowadays, that and being completely stupid.

But politics is more than just money. Policies and the budget are quite important because those make laws and pay for things you may use daily and yet you don't even think about it.

Rich people have been leaving the UK because it turned to s*** and it's not even going to be that bad. If the US was a complete mess, even worse than now, you could be extremely rich and yet a badly managed country could have repercussions even on you. You could see that on all kinds of services like roads and where you take your hypotetical kids.

So yeah, you're still being political. Not voting is agreeing with the winner.
