Poverty was halved and extreme poverty dropped 70 percent during his presidency, literacy rates shot up, he made his country one of the least unequal in the region. Whether you like it or not, there were plenty of material gains made for the Venezuelan people under his leadership.

DO YOU KNOW HOW SKINNY MY FAMILY GOT? And it’s not even that they didn’t have the money to eat, it was the scarcity.

DO YOU KNOW WE CAN NO LONGER GROW COFFEE ON OUR FARM? Government won’t allow us to sell it, unless directly to them, at a loss.

Poverty was halved? Inequality decreased. People who used to not be poor, are now poor too. I don’t even return there anymore, it makes me sick to see the decline, in culture, in the cities, in the universities, in the people, how skinny everyone is. EVERYONE IS POORER, minus the government officials.

Your ignorance is so incredible.

These statistical falsehoods came from the notorious communist propaganda machine known as the World Bank!

There is an economic crisis, and there most certainly has been economic mismanagement, most critically during Maduro's presidency, but Chavez not setting up a rainy day fund and failure to diversify the economy were some of the mistakes that were made during his presidency.

And with the sanctions (now a full-on embargo) that the US on Venezuela, it's pretty much impossible to get out of the crisis.

I'm writing this for others who may be reading this, because you're definitely not from Venezuela lol.

Nothing that I posted itt is a lie, it's all facts and backed up by non-leftist sources, so you can't pull out the "oh it's biased card".

Venezuela's economy is in terrible shape, the economic situation is making a lot of people suffer, but to blame this on economic mismanagement from the Venezuelan government and not say a single word about what the economic warfare waged by the US has done is ignorant at best, and just plain propaganda at worst.
