The difference is that when Drake rightfully gets called out for making mid, generic songs specially manufactured for radio play and mass appeal, Drake stans defend it by bringing up sales, saying if other music was so good it would sell more, which is a garbage argument.

Kanye stans argue about quality with awards and reviews and would rather discuss the artistic merits of music rather than how much it sells. This doesn't mean they won't celebrate an achievement like this though.
