Basically birthed the modern FPS and is still one of, if not the single best, first person shooter franchise out now. Doom Eternal is top 10 of all time material goddamn, and Doom 2016 was awesome too.

Difference is I think that people thought new Duke Nukem was gonna be good, ended up being s***.

After Doom 3 people didn't have high expectations for the reboot but it was too good to pass up

DOOM 2016 has one the best graphics that PS4 has to offer

I also lowkey hate FPS games but DOOM was f***ing awesome

The multiplayer was GOAT too but pissed me off cuz I spent $40 or so on DLC and they made that s*** free a few months later

3 is overhated tbh. it's not amazing or anything, but it's a decent game

the bar is set high for doom though i suppose, but they're living up to it, doom eternal is the new best game in the series 27 years in

Can someone explain to me why Doom Eternal is so good?

Visually beautiful, excellent incorporation of platforming mechanics, deep, sprawling upgrade system and weapon selection, really cool homebase, intense and super-precise game mechanics, Game is one of the smoothest things I've ever played and it's just really damn immersive. They truly outdid themselves with this game.

You can tell the dev team rly cared. This game is one of the best optimized games I've ever seen. Runs incredible on old ass hardware

I'm wondering how the Switch version will be. Doom 2016 was great on the Switch, so I'd expect Doom Eternal will follow suit

When an enemy is scanning the player and the player immediately takes damage. Kinda like laser tag

Bullets in video games are just hitscan animations

In Doom, demons fire projectiles that you can dodge. In other games you have to take cover cause hitscan is impossible to dodge

this s*** ruined the new Wolfenstein games for me. like you’ll find a secret area and max out on armor and health then step outside and get in a fire fight and the enemies blow through it all in 5 seconds cause you can’t dodge them shooting you from 50 different angles.
