I loved DOOM 2016 when it came out. It was one of those surprise games of the year. Great comeback for the franchise but I was slow to play Doom Eternal for some reason when I got it..

I recently been playing it on the PS5 with the upgrade and it's nuts! Amazing game. The soundtrack is ridiculous

Been playing 2016 campaign for the first time now, on level 7 (Destroyed Argent Facility) currently

One of the best games ever made, and my fav genre is jrpgs & games like AC.

Afterwards, you gotta play DE, then it’s DLCs (Ag1 + Ag2).

While 1 & 2 are related to 2016 + DE, YOU DONT need to play them as 2016 + DE recap the Slayer’s story in full as you play through them. They basically rebooted the franchise after 20 years.

It’s basically abrahamic revisionism at its finest, the lore plus story are top tier and make you think.

I’m a horror guy and 3 is the only scary installment in the series. Sure it’s not a fast paced run and gun like the others but that’s what makes it stand out imo

definitely play at least one of the old ones to get some familiarity with the originals, then just play 2016 and Eternal

I started eternal over the weekend, think I am on mission 4. I am finding it hard to enjoy it as much as Doom 2016. There is just so much s*** going on in the menus and gameplay. I think the simple but effective approach of 2016 was more successful over overall

the new version has new enhancements, online multiplayer and new mods/wads for consoles

you can also download the game for free if you already purchased one of the previous unity ports of Doom 1 or Doom II. It's also in game pass

so if you already own Doom 1, you basically get doom 2 for free

So would I be able to download this on the Switch for free if I already got those DOOM remasters/ports that came out a couple years ago? Or is this just a PC thing?

I'm a lil confused by the enhancements in general because I could've swore they did all this before, again just a couple years ago. Minus the mod support at least.

I tested it on Switch and I was able to download the new bundle for free cause I bought DOOM II from the eShop a few weeks ago
