I just linked two examples talking about his work with Springsteen which is what it's clearly being used for.

These old heads don't differentiate at all between different kinds of AI (machine learning vs generative) but what he is talking about is the project he's been working on for 3/4 years now.

He's comparing it to drum machines and synthesizers because he's mind blown at what the tech can do when it comes to cleaning up the old audio

while you’re not necessarily wrong here, i don’t think Dre has been working on actual new music for years

As someone who has worked closely with members of Dre’s team (you can check the threads for TI - Kill The King where I posted lyrics from the Dre produced track Where I’m From before it dropped or the thread for the Game mixtape last year where I posted about the intro track before it dropped, if you want to question my credentials) I can assure you Dre is not using any generative AI.

What he is using is the machine learning “de-mixing” technology that Peter Jackson and Giles Martin developed for Now & Then by the Beatles, which both separates the stems and cleans each one up individually (you can turn a bad demo tape into lossless quality with this tech).

He is indeed using it on the upcoming Springsteen project, and he already used it for the Tom Petty track on Snoop Dogg’s Missionary.

6 years is now “a few years”? Also I find calling leaked unfinished demos terrible a bit obtuse, especially when there were a lot of great tracks that leaked as well (Glory for instance)

Although you are correct he’s been working on a lot of projects since his aneurysm.

During the GTA EP times he was working on an entire new version of Detox.
He worked on Kingmaker for Xzibit (some work uncredited).
He worked on Casablanco and Missionary for Marsha and Snoop.
He’s working on the Springsteen album.
And he’s working on his own project (likely not to be called detox any more)

if you're really an insider is he still pretending to work on that planets project he was doing because he mentioned that this year with neil degrasse tyson

It’s gone on and off throughout the years but I know he was planning on revisiting it with Dolby Atmos tech.

He also was working on a jazz instrumental album for a bit in 2021, one of the tracks leaked a few years ago (Titties Around The Bonfire).
