No no no don't get me wrong, I like it. Just think it makes no sense. But that's Dragon Ball for you.

Unlike most I like Daima. I have my gripes, but I enjoyed it.

I get that, I started to notice weird stuff in the last episode too, but I also don't find the need to over a***yze a show for kids

I'm not overanalyzing it lol I just thought it made no sense.

But the more I think about it, this actually makes more sense than GT. Neva unlocks Goku's potential but it's his primal instincts is hella better than grows to giant different colored ape sees earth and become SSJ4 Lol

he becomes ssj4 by becoming aware as a great ape, by transmuting that energy consciously and maintaining it under control

    not by 'seeing earth'

I think both make sense, it’s just GT took a better approach. Even though GT executed like s***, it didn’t feel rushed like Daima. I still prefer Daima more and that it’s canon so now ssj4 is legit but for the demon realm they dropped the ball.

But at least this means this can all be revisited. Pretty sure Goku just can’t turn into Ssj4 because he needs his tail and Neva just tapped into his potential with magic that did a temporary mutation.

Ssj4 can come back in super to combine with UI. I feel that is probably where this is headed. The eventual ssj5

Imo neva is toriyama's self insert and this episode confirmed it. Creator of the first dragon balls, randomly gave ssj4 to goku making it canon, gave the tamagami the go to fight, is a nameccian like piccolo (his favorite characters), is pretty lazy like tori was. Idk maybe that wasnt the intention but i like to think it is

I was being factious, joking when I said "just seeing the earth"

He literally looks at the earth to transform into the Golden Ape form, his love for Pan calms him down. Blutz waves from the Earth is what made him transform into the Golden ape form in the first place as explained by Bulma. Regaining consciousness while as an ape is all it took to gain the form. That's it, Blutz Waves is the key component here. So yes, Goku did just "look at the earth". Vegeta was able to accomplish this easier/quicker because he's a more stable minded person than Goku.

But you got it bro, you're right I'm not sure why you're being uptight.

I could see this. Being a self-insert now that you put it out that way.

GT approach just made no sense because of all the contradictory information from Old Kai and then Bulma. Bulma explained that Goku was able to achieve it because the Earth naturally gives off Blutz waves, so when he turned into a great ape using Blutz Waves it made him Golden. Then originally it was said because of Goku's love for Pan caused him to regain consciousness and transform. Old Kai explained it saying Goku needs to get his tail back and go back to the Saiyans natural roots. Nobody knew what he meant by that and then it wasn't explained how it even happened until the final arc where Vegeta "cheated" to unlock SSJ4.

I always disliked GT's explanation because it went against what was established that the Super Saiyan form was the evolution of the great ape form and was already the Saiyan gaining that power in human form.

I think Daima's explanation was better because we know Namakians have the ability to pull out untapped potential. Neva being able to pull out Goku's primal potential is better than introducing Blutz Waves or some kind of unknown phenomenon. In GT, it cheapened it especially when Bulma was able to just build a machine to recreate Blutz Waves from the Earth. That also went against Goku and Vegeta's pride of becoming stronger on their own (Goku reiterates this in Battle of Gods where he says he doesn't like SSG because it's not his own power).

I just hope it doesn't sound like I'm hating. I love SSJ4, it's a dope design. It's origins is just as mishandled as SSJ3 that's all. I think Daima fixes this though.

Untapped primal potential vs Blutz waves. Give me the untapped primal explanation any day.

Thought the transformation & design was much better in GT plus 10x kamehameha is legendary to me (fire kamehameha was great too) but I do love the expansion on nameks abilities and it overall makes much more sense in daima. I know it’s unlikely but I hope we see adult ss4 in the canon timeline at some point
