The planned break was always for the manga to get ahead so the anime can adapt the manga. The parallel reason was given because people was asking the "canon" question. It was causing way to many issues with continuity with the writers and Toyotoru himself. He had to go back and adapt SSBKK into the tournament of power, but because it's harder to showcase KK with SSB in black and white, many people don't even noticed Goku used it in the manga. This is all confirmed by Geekdom and prominent DB leakers and insiders on Twitter. It was planned that the anime would fall in line with the manga and fixing issues and errors (like most animes do).

The movie adaptations for the anime are just so the manga can get further ahead and to fix elements that may have been left out of the movie version. For example, Gotenks in the RoF anime version or Goku unlocking SSG and fighting longer in SSG.

Budokai 3 is so good. It even still looks good almost 20 years later. You can't say that about a lot of the PS2 era games.

Man I recently found out that different alternate customs was basically a brand new character. So King Piccolo costume for Piccolo made him taller and have a longer reach. They did that because they wanted to add King Piccolo, but ran out of time.
