I don't think it'd be hard, I just think artists just don't normally try it because they normally do these boring traditional rollouts. Drake's already had Wants & Needs plus LNCL that can throw on for singles. He doesn't need more.
I didn't say Taylor's album did well long term, i said the opposite. But her first day numbers were insane with only 15hrs of hype that's my point. It'd be the same with Drake, he doesn't need these boomer traditional rollouts. He has released so much music in the last year alone that it'd be almost pointless imo
there's a certain point where the general audience gets bored/tired of an artist for a while and I think Drake's nearing that point right now. He has to be careful, it has been 3 years since a studio album but he hasn't left peoples ears at all. This a big reason his 2018 was so big imo, after ML he barely released anything so when those songs came out early 2018 everyone was excited as f*** cause we hadn't heard from him in a while.
There's no assurance those 2 songs will be on CLB and even if they are, he still needs something out leading up to the album dropping because his album needs legs and like I said, he won't make the effort to push other songs as singles once the album is out.

Nonsense. No one has released a better album than After Hours since it released.
You didn't like After Hours?
No, maybe it's unfair but I compare it to his classics like Trilogy or Kiss Land and it's just not on that level. I really can't believe he peaked in that era but at least he's got some success still. I don't think After Hours being popular makes it a classic I only care about the music quality.

this is facts success doesn’t equal classic.. no songs on after hours are going to be remembered besides blinding lights

Fiction. I’m a Drake stan but multiple tracks on After Hours will still be played 5 years from now.
Nice to know he’s still calling it CLB & not just Certified
I see him using CLB like future used DS2 instead of dirty Sprite 2

How come you're assuming he wont make that effort to push other songs when the album is out? I don't really get it. Most of Scorpion's success after release was due to Nonstop & IMF, not any of the singles released prior to the drop

Gods Plan is literally Drake’s biggest solo cut

Yea before it dropped Ik but we talking about what made the album get sales after it dropped. IMF + Nonstop were the songs getting the most amount of streams in the months after the album came out

Well, both songs were released on the day Scorpion dropped. You thought God's Plan, which had been out for 6 months at that point, was going to magically gain more streams than them? Or even Nice for What, which had been out for 3 months at that point?
Take Olivia Rodrigo for instance. drivers license was a massive hit for the first 2 months of the year. It's steam slow down before April. The songs driving streams on her album now are the album tracks, led by good 4 u, which was released as a lead single the week before the album dropped. drivers license and even deja vu aren't what's driving streams for the album. That's how it works.

I agree, but God's Plan gave it a hype that isn't properly quantifiable

Trilogy > AH > MDM > Kissland > Starboy > BBTM to me
And I would rate AH a possible classic, depending on how I enjoy it in a few years
