why bro
Because he's judged differently from every other rapper. He needs to give CLB the best chance to do well.
No one needs this. A surprise release for an album would be a stupid move for Drake.

i agree
that’s why i’m saying a successful surprise drop from him would cause a lot of haters to be silent imo
he already has a bunch of hype surrounding it and as long as it’s better than scorpion (which was already good) then i think most ppl who been hating will have to give it to him
Rent free. Regardless, abels music is actually good and he aint a d*** rider like drake who jumps on every trend
“Rent Free” you came into this thread to defend your king Abel when no one was even talking s*** about him . Wipe your mouth

All you're seeing are the first week numbers. That doesn't matter. Drake will always do numbers in the first week. That isn't what decides whether or not an album is successful.
His next album needs singles so it can have legs months after it's dropped. Plus, everyone will be looking to Drake for more than 1 hit off the album. LNCL is old. That doesn't count anymore. He needs at least 2 singles before dropping that album.
Kanye can drop on a whim because no one checks for his music after the first week anyways. No one is looking to him for hits. His album can debut at #1 and fall off the chart the next week and no one will care. That's not the position Drake is in. Drake has done enough surprise releases. IYRTITL/WATTBA/DLDT were all surprises. He doesn't need to do that with an ALBUM. Albums are judged way differentntly than side projects.

He already did that in 2015 and 2020
Why does he need to prove to you or haters over and over stuff he already did?
I think some of yall faves should do the stuff Drake already did and prove to us you can do it also
How’s that talking s*** you dumbass?
I know who I’m replying to and shes up the weeknds ass

You act like you aren’t up The Weeknd’s ass either . Also she didn’t even say anything false. The bundle thing isn’t even exclusive to The Weeknd too btw. People say the same thing about Travis next album and many other artist that relied on bundles to boost their album numbers these last few years. No need to become a sensitive ass b**** about it

she called weeknd out on abusing bundles, then you caught feelings as if "clowning the weeknd" is the same as "clowning you". you shouldn't take things that have nothing to do with you personally

All she does is mention the weeknd in every drake thread shut ur b**** ass up. Im in the thread for drake too.
Also I didnt say anything false either, last two albums are dog water

“Last two albums are dogwater”. Almost as if music is subjective and just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean they’re objectively bad grow up

You don’t have to tear down Drake to big up your king Abel
He needs singles off the album so it'll have legs.
Why does it matter if they come before the album though? they can easily come after.
Idk I guess my point is Taylor Swift dropped 2 projects last yr with 15hrs notice each and both did amazingly well streaming wise. Neither had legs but that's nothing to do with the rollout imo

Exactly
As long as he has the bangers on there the album will have legs
Think he will just drop one song a week or 2 before release personally

Because it's hard getting singles to take off after an album is out.
No, Taylor's albums didn't do well streaming-wise long-term. They died off on streaming less than 5 weeks after they dropped. Folklore had a bit more longevity but even that album kept getting boosted by signed vinyls which Taylor would strategically release on weak chart weeks so the album could go back to #1. Drake won't put in that much effort into his album.
I get the impression with this album there might not even be a bunch of smash singles like scorpion . More focus on an excellent body of work
NWTS approach 🙏🏿 if you’re expecting another single bonanza you might be disappointed
If you look how many songs drake has with over 100 million streams, you can see, that he will do well streaming wise long-term regardless.
IYRTITL came out with no singles and was one of the biggest albums of that year.
The main reason why Drake needs to push singles off the album before it drops is because of how he moves as an artist. Take Wants and Needs for instance. CLEARLY the song the general public likes the most from Scary Hours 2. Drake did nothing to push the song after it dropped, especially when it was the only song with legs months after Scary Hours 2 dropped. Didn't shoot a music video, didn't service it to radio — nothing. He shot a video for What's Next, sent it to radio and that was the last time he ever spoke about anything from Scary Hours 2.
Once his albums drop, if a song isn't getting pushed the week the album is out, forget about it. He doesn't move like most pop singers like Harry Styles or Dua Lipa or the Weeknd who will still try to push singles off their albums MONTHS after release. Those guys will make a remix (sometimes several remixes), do live performances and push songs viciously on pop radio till they take off as another hit for them. Drake isn't doing any of that so if he surprise-drops CLB and it ends up not having legs, when the comparisons to Scorpion come up (in terms of commerical performance), don't say I didn't bring this up.
He doesn't even need the singles to reach #1 or be as huge as the singles off Scorpion (frankly, just off the current climate, I don't see any singles being as big as any of the singles off Scorpion). They just need to be out there as singles. Let them breathe for some weeks before dropping the album, that's all.
It makes absolutely no sense to rush a release for an album that's already been delayed this long. Least you can do is give it the best chance to do well in the long run. There's no rush. That's how I feel.

I don't think it'd be hard, I just think artists just don't normally try it because they normally do these boring traditional rollouts. Drake's already had Wants & Needs plus LNCL that can throw on for singles. He doesn't need more.
I didn't say Taylor's album did well long term, i said the opposite. But her first day numbers were insane with only 15hrs of hype that's my point. It'd be the same with Drake, he doesn't need these boomer traditional rollouts. He has released so much music in the last year alone that it'd be almost pointless imo
there's a certain point where the general audience gets bored/tired of an artist for a while and I think Drake's nearing that point right now. He has to be careful, it has been 3 years since a studio album but he hasn't left peoples ears at all. This a big reason his 2018 was so big imo, after ML he barely released anything so when those songs came out early 2018 everyone was excited as f*** cause we hadn't heard from him in a while.

I agree a bit...he released a full body of work for every year except 2009, 2012, 2014 since 2008.
Maybe he needs 2-3 years of complete silence...just a few features or maybe even nothing.
