usually deluxes are meant to help albums to climb the chart
that's how My Turn is selling so well to this day
they even added The Bigger Picture to the final reissue

if anything, MOH and Habibti took some attention away from Iceman
and Iceman would definetely sell more if it dropped by itself

there's no way MOH and Habibti can be seen as deluxes

Are you 15 or something lol deluxe albums did not start off like this.

  • sab in the 1k club

this is a very 2020+-centric view of what a deluxe is

    what does it even mean?
do you consider Hndrxx a deluxe to Future?

  • i could see calling MOH and Habibi fanservice albums but not deluxes crine

i disagree heavy with this tbh

maybe if they were more of iceman i could see

but in no way 2 albums that sound different and didnt add up to iceman numbers could be called deluxes

they’re fully separate albums, obviously they don’t say deluxe & don’t have sales tied to ICEMAN

Drake put Scary Hours 3 on FatD as a deluxe EP, but it’s understood SH3 is fully separate from FatD

it’s the same concept but in reverse: Drake dropped ICEMAN & two separate additional albums at the same time

without calling them deluxes, they’re understood as deluxes because they are bonus albums to the main project, ICEMAN

ICEMAN is a complete solo album, and Habibti & MoH are fully separate bodies of work released alongside it as bonus albums because they received no promo beforehand. you remember that, right? how they all dropped at the same time?

You do realize Drake isn't the first artist to drop multiple albums on the same day, right?

It's not the same concept as FATD's deluxe at all. That was a handful of songs he decided to make Scary Hours 3 and attach to FATD as the "Scary Hours Edition" of that album; essentially just his way of titling it the deluxe version. Those six songs were not released independently of FATD whatsoever. They exist as a piece of that album.

HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR do not have any attachment to ICEMAN whatsoever other than the fact that they released on the same day. There are probably people who heard 1 of the 3 albums and had no idea the other 2 even existed (and still might not)

    That's a double album

    exactly

those are A&B like FUTURE & HNDRXX

that’s not the case here. ICEMAN is very obviously the main album, with the other two as ā€œsupportingā€ albums

Sab's point is basically "they weren't announced beforehand and dropped on the same day as ICEMAN so they're basically just deluxes to ICEMAN and you're all stupid if you don't think so"

not even close, you just have something in your head & refuse to read the words on your screen

He should've just dropped this separately lol this feels weird and dumb

Nobody cares about the way it's packaged,we just want the damn music ,fuck that other s***

Yeah because ICEMAN is the album that was promoted for two years and deals directly with the aftermath of the beef. MAID OF HONOUR and HABIBTI were surprise releases that have nothing to do with that so of course they don't feel like the "main" album, that doesn't make them deluxes

  • sab in the 1k club

Literally the only reasoning you've given for them functioning as deluxes to ICEMAN is that they dropped on the same day and weren't promoted

Also if HABIBTI was a deluxe to ICEMAN, that means that tonight we're getting a deluxe to a deluxe

Do you not hear how dumb that sounds lmao

    that's a double album
idk if they changed the rules by the time when Outkast album came out
but every purchase of All Eyez On Me was considered as two sales
this might be the case with Speakerbox / The Love Below too
    where is the correlation?

MOH and Habibti don't add up to Iceman performance whatsoever, they do the opposite

wouldn’t be the first time a deluxe got a deluxe this decade lmfao

  • SZA dropped a whole new album 3 years after SOS and it's still a deluxe
every stream and sale of LANA adds up to SOS

just because Drake dropped MOH and Habibti on the same day that don't make them deluxes in any way

deluxes are extra songs on top of the standard album meant for the hardcore fans to enjoy but aren’t part of the main album

just because they were dropped in album format doesn’t mean MoH & Habibti don’t fit this description for ICEMAN
