read the actual lawsuit, people are posting funny parts of the case on here but this isn't just him complaining, he's making actual claims in here and people have won in civil court over far more ridiculous business transaction differences. it's not 81 pages of drake b****ing. i'm not saying if he's in the right or wrong for doing it but people are making it seem like he's making frivolous claims and he very much is not throughout the document

The claims he's making are so difficult to prove in Federal court. At best they come to a settlement, but in the end he wouldn't win. He's doing legitimate damage to his career.

Very curious how the link from euphoria "don't tell a lie bout me and I won't tell the truth bout you" to the claims on NLU resonating with the general public goes over in court if it gets there

the lawsuit isn't about the claim itself or the beef, one of the opening statements basically says this. the claim is that UMG purposefully handled the song differently knowing what the result would be to force him into a worse contract. i'm not saying this is true or valid, but the claim isn't "someone said something bad about me", it's "UMG used someone saying something bad about me in a leveraged manner". people are focusing too much on the ridiculous stuff in the document but unlike the spotify one there's actual claims in this

Unless UMG had DJs across the country set up to play the song the day it dropped then I find this hard to believe

Why would Universal damage their cash cow only to re-sign them for diminishing returns? If they only want his back catalog then they could buy it out from him via Tech firm

Other than that, Drake’s newer music hasn’t even touched the Top 50 after the beef. So destroying Drake’s reputation just to re-sign him to a worse deal where they’ll probably make less money makes zero sense

"On information and belief, Lamar signed a short-term deal with UMG to see if UMG could prove its value to him—to promote him more effectively than any other music company could—in a compressed timeframe.

If successful, Lamar would then continue his relationship with UMG through a new, longer-term contract.

On information and belief, that long-term deal was consummated in December of 2024."

    Wait what

You’re constantly moving the goal post lol prior to Family Matters s*** was said in songs by both of them

Once again people clearly do not care about domestic abuse and rappers/famous people. I gave you 3 examples and people still champion those people to this day. Can’t believe I have to actually spell this all out for you. Being labeled and PEDO is severe defamation. Way more so than being an alleged “woman beater”

Clearly you seen how it plays out so why still act dumb about the entire thing? You live under a rock?

You do not get to choose which accusation is worse and just disregard the other one.

Defamation is defamation. If Kendrick wanted to sue Drake for the lyrics in Family Matters, he has every right to

Last lawsuit Drake claimed UMG employees were getting fired for showing "loyalty to Drake" lmao.

I wouldn't take anything in this doc as a fact till proven.

The suit was brought on behalf of Drake by Michael J. Gottlieb, a partner at the firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher, who has previously represented the owner of the Washington pizzeria targeted by the “Pizzagate” conspiracy theorists and the election workers falsely accused by Rudolph W. Giuliani of aiding a false plot to steal the 2020 presidential election.
