I don’t really think it’ll do much. Maybe give smaller artists that work with UMG a new foot in a door that was otherwise closed. But outside of that, I don’t think it’ll change rap or beefing or anything of the sort. Could be wrong but I guess time will tell

That's not the point of a rap battle. You're supposed to outrap and outwit your opponent to a win. That's the goal of a rap battle. Defaming your opponent is usually the last-ditch effort to get a win.
Anyways, with this battle in particular, things changed when everyone started calling Drake a pedophile confidently without him having any allegations on his name and then using the battle to act like it was fact, simply because Kendrick said so.
On that alone, Drake is right to sue for defamation.
