Idk about all the other stuff but he wasn’t lying about that. It’s actually pretty easy to “accidentally” dm someone multiple times. I DMed slingshot during this whole debacle and I went back and looked at my history and I even duplicated like two of my DMs without even realizing it (I guess I pressed enter really fast twice or something?? Idk).
Plus, the link wasn’t working. Elemental didn’t know why at the time but it was because Ron was already in the cord to begin with (elemental wasn’t really active in there so he didn’t know who was coming and going) so the whole thing wasn’t even necessary

It is because it sets the legal precedent for more artists to sue the label over diss records which can create its own rabbit hole
This is a silly point. Who else would sue over diss records? What diss records have defamed someone's name the way Not Like Us did in recent memory?

On that alone, Drake is right to sue for defamation.

Somehow, in that battle, people had the sense to keep things mostly within the confines of the battle (even though they all ran with the deadbeat s***). That still doesn't compare with the whole world feeling confident calling you a pedophile because of a diss track.

If it was only posted on YouTube but still went on to get hundreds of millions of views and became a massive hit, Drake wouldn't have any grounds to sue anyone. He'd just have to take that s*** on the chin. That's why he never wanted to put the diss tracks up on DSPs. That's something everyone harassed him to do. Once that happened, it gave UMG the power to f*** around however they wanted to and now we're here.
