Do you honestly think labels will want to risk something like this moving forward? Especially if it costs them as much time and money as we think.
Labels only concern is making as much money as possible, they do not care about artistry at all.
That's something we can agree on but one of the main reasons why Drake is even suing UMG is because he feels they got involved in his beef with Kendrick. That's his issue. This never happened with the Pusha T beef because there was no way for them to interfere in that situation.
It's that simple. Labels won't censor s*** because they know that's how rap works and that's what makes them money but even if they wanna censor s*** moving forward, it wouldn't be a bad idea to not release songs by any other UMG artists who wants to call someone a pedophile when they aren't yet proven to be one.
Sheltered kids arguing over a lawsuit is insane
They re celebrating drizzys W in Troy ave Stan’s hood as we speak
so much so that his buddy had to come in to defend him
You laughing it up with a racist who said Selena Gomez made afrobeats
Can't we all just get along and watch the Nokia video together
even the video made them mad
The POC kpop fans are just as crazy. On some modern Ye s***

s*** like this is why i wonder why black people love anime so much before even reading African texts
we gone have a discussion about this one day lol
it’s a lot of “idc about Africa cause i got no connections (so I’d rather go where no one looks like me and learn their cultures)”
or maybe I just think too much lmfao

it made me so happy to experience that song in Africa
and everyone going
when someone played the Selena version

African texts/stories are just not accessible. Black cartoons like Boondocks, Proud Family, static shock, etc were def popular though
you musta been happy when “stop Asian hate” got more motion in politics and media (literally made YG delete a decade old song about robbing rich Asian neighborhoods which was true) than racism towards black people lmao
Not really no. I’m also black.
However if you see a video of one K-Pop group being racist and then start casually saying the entire genre is racist, that’s similar to conservatives who just casually imply the entire genre of Hip-Hop is criminals and thugs.

Yea man this one is not my battle but thats crazy
best part about all this is the same niggas was in here 50 pages ago saying UMG was cooking drake with that response and now that the judge ruled against their dumbass response, they stil in here spinning something different

yea i guess we just haven’t had a renowned artist or game changing artist tell African stories
man a Mau Mau animated show would be insane…shietttt a real life version would be CRAZY to really show how sick the colonizers were in manipulating Africans to kill their own for their concept of “God, Gold, Glory (murder)”
Not really no. I’m also black.

Realistically their involvement started right when any track was released through the label, this goes for both Drake and Kendrick.
Rap has traditionally worked this way but as soon as the risk outweighs the reward they won’t want any involvement.
Both artists said horrendous things about eachother, if you hold the opinion of what Kendrick said was too far I assume you would also hold the opinion that what drake said also crossed the line, meaning that Kendrick can sue for the same things drake did.
There begins the slippery slope of censorship especially with two artists that willingly engaged in a rap beef.

They still cannot explain exactly how UMG “got involved” with Not Like Us
