They still cannot explain exactly how UMG “got involved” with Not Like Us
It sounds like we will find out, I’m not sure if they did or did not.
At this point there is no information that suggests it did but again that could change. Just like it could change for any song released through UMG during the beef.
Realistically their involvement started right when any track was released through the label, this goes for both Drake and Kendrick.
Rap has traditionally worked this way but as soon as the risk outweighs the reward they won’t want any involvement.
Both artists said horrendous things about eachother, if you hold the opinion of what Kendrick said was too far I assume you would also hold the opinion that what drake said also crossed the line, meaning that Kendrick can sue for the same things drake did.
There begins the slippery slope of censorship especially with two artists that willingly engaged in a rap beef.
I hate how this legal s*** is even being discussed in the vicinity of a hip hop beef, unprecedented
Nokia #1 AM Global and a Drake W in this case today (I haven’t read anything)?
Throwing some nice meat on the grill.

Fire that b**** up crodie
Not really no. I’m also black.
However if you see a video of one K-Pop group being racist and then start casually saying the entire genre is racist, that’s similar to conservatives who just casually imply the entire genre of Hip-Hop is criminals and thugs.
this is a thing in Asia and the music industry that I’m sure is well known by now, where black culture is appropriated but without black people. of course it is ignorant to judge everyone, but then we can’t ever have a discussions about the reality we can clearly see is happening that these young artists ignorantly let out as a joke
Because they are reacting as if either side is winning when it’s just regular court technicalities
Facts. Everything UMG has done so far is standard procedure in a big lawsuit
Now if their motion to dismiss gets denied, that means Drake has at least a prima facie case in the court's view. That's the first actual W worth celebrating
this is from an Asian writer @iHype
the origins of K-Pop are rooted in cultural appropriation and ignorance toward black

Damn even they own kind admits k-pop is rooted in cultural appropriation of black ppl 💀

Right, I agree that’s a completely separate discussion though.
I’m talking about how ridiculous it is that fader accused him of liking a bunch of racist K-Pop artists and he enjoys their racism just because he simply likes K-Pop. Couldn’t even name any of the K-Pop artists that user likes
Nigga just grasping at Fox News level conservative ideology

and it was written during k-pop BLM silence that they started coming out to support after the controversy
pretty much saying “don’t let this lil act fool you”
Still waiting for someone to explain how UMG got involved in the beef with Kendrick
Cuz how else could drake possibly lose

Midzy has made slick comments in here before with the sole intention of antagonizing black users. Always s***ting on rap artists despite not even listening to the genre.
This is who you’re standing up for simply because yall both like Drake

The boycott, just like his return to the stage, made 0 noise. Everyone already knew they play favourites. He was just in his feels atp.

Ye didn’t really care about boycotting it. It was just a tantrum because someone else was winning
I love the Grammys

Ahh, we’ve reached the part where you try to deflect and completely change to the discussion to “this user once said this on May 18, 2021 in this thread. You’re siding with them??!” to avoid the current discussion.
Nigga go outside like omg you take this forum so seriously. Sorry all of us don’t spend every day years straight a***yzing KTT2 users lmaoo

I mean you’re literally d*** riding a racist

Yep it’s hard to agree with especially with two willing participants.. I don’t know what the resolution of this will end up being but I am pretty confident this won’t be contained to just rap beef moving forward.

I have ZERO issues with Kendrick suing Drake or even UMG. That's his right and he can exercise it however he sees fit. That's not the issue here. The problem isn't that Kendrick simply called Drake a pedophile. It's that Drake feels like UMG went the extra length to massive push and promote a song calling him that, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that song went as far as possible.
I'm not worried about censorship because rap is still the biggest genre in the US. It makes UMG way too much money for them to ever truly move away from rap. That won't be happening.
Let's all just wait and see how this s*** plays out.

yes but its deeper than that

I feel the Grammy awarding system is way off and completely out of touch.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
Hi Grammys this is the most important living artist talking.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
If I’m not at the show next year then there is no show.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
I don’t want to just fix the awards for me but I want to fix it for Dexter Navy who directed A$AP Rocky’s LSD video.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
Everybody with any form of taste knows that was the best video of the year!
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
Dexter didn’t feel he even had a chance of winning and he was right!!!
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
You guys are supposed to be all about taste.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
You like your black people a certain way also. You wouldn’t have Future perform and that man owned the clubs last summer.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
Has anyone at the Grammys ever heard March Madness??? Yes I have a problem with the Grammys.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
All artists have a problem with it and I am going to fix it for us all starting right now.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
Neil please reach out as soon as possible so we can make the Grammys culturally relevant again.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
Us real music guys wanna have fun too
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
and always remember that rock and roll was stolen and don’t try to hide behind Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis all positive vibes.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
First order of business. We the people need to see Future at the Grammys.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016
We need to see Young Thug at the Grammys. Not just me and Jay in a suit.
