I’m not putting Blinding Lights with those songs because sonically there’s just much more to offer. Fireworks is actually a great pop record too. Dynamite is a joke and for you to put it next to Blinding Lights is insane to me. It’s not even a gentrified pop song like that. It sounds totally different than those songs you’re saying.
It has that same vibe for me, I would put those songs on the same playlist easily if I was making a stadium pop type playlist
I don’t like any of Max Martin’s work like that tbh there’s no soul
Weeknd the laughing stock of white girls rn too. Twitter been litting him up since that disaster of a show he tried to do
Seems like you care more about image & perception than music you was never for the art to begin with - from now on no one should take this guy’s opinion serious

I think based on your takes on this site, it’s apparent that you seem to ONLY like things that are hip hop & r&b and that’s fine. However, you’re coming off as someone that’s boxed in to one style of music by saying things like this that do not even make any sense at all.
I sometimes wish you guys would just admit this and just say it’s not for you. You don’t have to make up takes like this that make you not sound like you know music.
Drake is 37 not 50
Nas just dropped a song saying he f***s the same girls as drake and future. You realise how drake is scrutinised On a different level to other niggas? It’s crazy
Damn Puff Daddy out here with young Miami 😂
I don’t think anyone really cares about who Drake is f***in lol The critique is more so about the content on the album. Joe also hates Yachty and that lane’s influence on certain rappers. You could go back to listen to his breakdown of that Yacthy and Cole song. That’s where the whole get away from the kids comment comes from.
Joe just had higher expectations than Drake’s current music and the content on this album.
hbo show he was on got cancelled before the season even finished
The season was finished
Fedora case pic is hilarious
Joe response is gonna be passive aggressive
Yeah I could see that, I was thinking joe’s probably not gonna go in like we expect/want
He’s probably going to laugh it off, say that he’s hyped that the biggest rapper is in his comments and giving him energy, some light stuff, i don’t think we’re getting angry Joe
And I think he tries to clear up that he didn’t really mean to tell drake who to deal with but he meant it more as far as how it influences the music and maybe got too personal
dennis message is some real s***
also proves that it wasnt about music critism but the fact that joe thinks he can tell drake who he can be friends with or f*** and how to live his life
imagine some one who never made it telling jordan, lebron, messi or tom brady how and who they should be messing with

I like rock and electronic a lot too, the only thing I really don’t like is stadium/generic radio pop and country
Weeknd falls under the former for me
he has said himself that it’s not really about some artistic s***, he just made this music to be a star
at least one of two of them dudes in drakes crew look like mark zuckerberg he really got room to talk
The season was finished
no it wasn't. last episode never got the release approved and they cancelled early

That’s just not true lmao
Season was initially billed for 6 eps but was compressed into 5 before ep 1 even aired

Yeah I think that’s definitely where Joe was coming from, it’s a grey area where he just barely got a little too personal with how he said it
But I don’t even think that’s why drakes really mad
Shame he didnt care enough to stick around when his son was young
Do yall even listen to the music?
Dennis was never non existent
He just had legal issues that prevented him from traveling to Toronto and thats when him and drakes relationshio got rocky
It has that same vibe for me, I would put those songs on the same playlist easily if I was making a stadium pop type playlist

After Hours is an amazing pop record - conceptually, instrumentally and vocally. Dawn FW is a solid pop record, too. If you don‘t like pop music it‘s ok that‘s your perception & I won’t judge you for that 🤷🏻♂️ Drake makes playlist music, too just in another genre.

Can you show me where he said that? He also has the elements that you just said you like in his music. Blinding Lights has electro elements to it. Putting anything he does in the generic radio pop category is insane.. aside from BBTM stuff

Yeah I just hear singles from pop albums, the singles were cool but they werent thank you next or anything
Think it’s important to note that while you can like or not like the album, if you’re going to do a deep dive on the album at least acknowledge the decision making behind the songs on the LP, which IMO is everything here
The now infamous line “I know a classic is just ten of these.” Like…you don’t think when he put out 8am that he knew his IG/Twitter approval rating would be sky high?
Like, the reality is…this nigga is doing 450K first week in 2023 no bundles. That means that he’s a megastar and megastars have huge fanbases that they have to cater to. He’s admitted as such to Elliot and bdot so this isn’t my opinion, this is fact.
People seem to forget that he vassssttt majority of drake’s fans are not on IG, not on Twitter, not in Ak’s comments debating drake’s legacy. If you went to it’s all a blur this summer NONE of them give a f*** abt what niggas is in comments talking abt. Dead homies.
And they matter. They are not insignificant, in fact they’re the ones spending the money. So when he’s putting together his flagship albums, of course they’re going to get panned initially they all do because they all have to have something for everyone, and they all will have a ton of melody because those aforementioned fans love to sing and chant great runs and great hooks.
FATD is no different. Don’t mean you have to like the album but IMO this perspective gets lost a bit
Everything you said is facts. That being said maybe I’m the only one they feels like Drake is at that level where he doesn’t HAVE to make an album that has to cater to everyone. And a lot of people are tired of that.
Can you show me where he said that? He also has the elements that you just said you like in his music. Blinding Lights has electro elements to it. Putting anything he does in the generic radio pop category is insane.. aside from BBTM stuff
Blinding Lights fits that genre I’m sorry lol
There’s a quote of him stressing that his main goal is just to be a big star
