JeffersonSteelflexI’m not putting Blinding Lights with those songs because sonically there’s just much more to offer. Fireworks is actually a great pop record too. Dynamite is a joke and for you to put it next to Blinding Lights is insane to me. It’s not even a gentrified pop song like that. It sounds totally different than those songs you’re saying.
It has that same vibe for me, I would put those songs on the same playlist easily if I was making a stadium pop type playlist

I think based on your takes on this site, it’s apparent that you seem to ONLY like things that are hip hop & r&b and that’s fine. However, you’re coming off as someone that’s boxed in to one style of music by saying things like this that do not even make any sense at all.
I sometimes wish you guys would just admit this and just say it’s not for you. You don’t have to make up takes like this that make you not sound like you know music.

I don’t think anyone really cares about who Drake is f***in lol The critique is more so about the content on the album. Joe also hates Yachty and that lane’s influence on certain rappers. You could go back to listen to his breakdown of that Yacthy and Cole song. That’s where the whole get away from the kids comment comes from.
Joe just had higher expectations than Drake’s current music and the content on this album.

The now infamous line “I know a classic is just ten of these.” Like…you don’t think when he put out 8am that he knew his IG/Twitter approval rating would be sky high?
Like, the reality is…this nigga is doing 450K first week in 2023 no bundles. That means that he’s a megastar and megastars have huge fanbases that they have to cater to. He’s admitted as such to Elliot and bdot so this isn’t my opinion, this is fact.
People seem to forget that he vassssttt majority of drake’s fans are not on IG, not on Twitter, not in Ak’s comments debating drake’s legacy. If you went to it’s all a blur this summer NONE of them give a f*** abt what niggas is in comments talking abt. Dead homies.
And they matter. They are not insignificant, in fact they’re the ones spending the money. So when he’s putting together his flagship albums, of course they’re going to get panned initially they all do because they all have to have something for everyone, and they all will have a ton of melody because those aforementioned fans love to sing and chant great runs and great hooks.
FATD is no different. Don’t mean you have to like the album but IMO this perspective gets lost a bit
Everything you said is facts. That being said maybe I’m the only one they feels like Drake is at that level where he doesn’t HAVE to make an album that has to cater to everyone. And a lot of people are tired of that.
