Depends on what you consider “good”. To some’s standards, every Drake album is good. Others may think none of them are good. Nobody is right or wrong.

Drake def hasn’t made an amazing album since NWTS though

This basically what I'm getting at. I was peak Drake fan after NWTS/IYRTITL. Then he hyped the f*** out of views and said it was going to be 10x better then IYRTITL and it was extremely underwhelming. I feel like the success of hot line bling ruined Drake a bit. I like that song but I know it was supposed to just be a throwaway then it hit like it did and it seems like he's been chasing the success of that song a bit since.

I still like Drake. I enjoyed a good amount of CLB but there's a lot of filler/ tracks that didn't need to be on the album or could've been a lot better.

That's just my opinion though. I didn't think there would be a whole lot of people that agree with me here. I feel like I just don't feel Drakes music as much as I once did and that's probably part of it to

  • Albums become a lot more enjoyable when you stop going in with expectations or drawing comparisons. CLB hits

What do the great artists do? They make the album they want, and it turns out to be great anyway.

I don’t get the Views hate. I played it before CLB dropped and it is a very well rounded album IMO.

    OP thought he had one

I think CLB fits this 🤷🏾‍♂️ I think this is solid all around album. My biggest criticism of it so far is there’s not many moments in it that slapped me in the face like “this is one the best songs/verses/choruses we’ve ever gotten from him” but I’m also only 3 listens in and I feel like this in an album that needs unpacking. So maybe that comes later. And if it doesn’t, it’s still a solid all around album. He’s given us so many incredible moments that at some point it gets hard to keep making notches.

come with a classic, years later they say it’s a sleeper

It’s hard to make a consistent album when so many people come to your album for different things. Drake’s a victim of his versatility. Some people want introspective rap Drake, some people want club rap Drake, some people want his r&b, some people want his radio/pop hits, etc.

Hard to make a cohesive/consistent album for everyone when you want to make a little of everything.

Good way to put it. Never thought about this. I guess that's why drake stays on top.. he caters to us all always.

If we're considering IYRTITL a mixtape and More Life a "playlist".

Scorpion had it's moments but lacked consistency. Views was unimpressive and once again wasn't consistent now we have CLB...

I don't mean to be that guy coming into a section I don't frequent in with a negative opinion but I'm just really dissapointed with what we got. For the most part this feels uninspired. Sounds like the same s*** he was rapping and singing about on Scorpion & Views

Just go back to the Kendrick section, man.

“Only real musics gonna last, all that other bullshit is here today and gone tomorrrrrow” this album gonna last forever

who cares about cohesion if the music is good - if an album is too cohesive it all sounds the same and it’s a drag to listen to fully

Views is a classic. Incredible music and his closest to an r&b dance project. I think that’s a top 3 project to me but y’all be good tho
