I guess you like Rick officer ross as well?

  • Feb 13, 2020

True, which makes it worse that he hasn’t dropped an undeniably great project in about 5 years.

Esp since Views had so much hype around it and Scorpion had amazing singles but he loaded both of them with filler.

F*** is your dumbass talking about?? If you knew anything about music it’s the melody that “connects people” with drakes music. People aren’t quoting this mans s*** like he’s a good writer. They quote his hooks or 1 bar. F*** outta here man

This simply just isn’t true my guy.

His ability to craft cohesive, well written lyrics that can connect so many people so deeply puts him above "rappity rap" lyricists who can't connect with listeners and only impress rap nerds.

It's what made Jay, Pac, and Wayne goat lyricists. Plus, he's got quotables for days (just like the goats I named)

Make fun of him all you want for being a "simp" or a "pop artist", but the fact that he's made you know him so well that you can even make fun him just shows how real and raw he is

    Drake a GOAT

EDIT: Thread dead after 5 and a half pages? HA! I like Drake too but fr "above 90% of rappers as a lyricist"? You niggas who agreed exposed yaselfs

    I actually agree with this

KTT stans Lupe type writing that's filled with layers, and there's nothing wrong with that, but that stuff loses the average person who needs simpler s***.

You have to be able to get your message across in a way that not only gets it across, but in a way where the most people can digest it.

You dont have to dumb it all the way down but there is a point where a lot of great rappers dont dumb it down enough.

I dont think Drake is a GOAT lyricist though from my personal preference, but he does have the most relatable quotables since Jay so I'm not mad at him being in those discussions.

Drake has at least a couple albums that can be argued as classic and many great or classic verses/songs.

Drake stans have way more of a leg to stand on with regards to gassing their fave's talent.
