Sure, drake been collabing with people to create records. Every artist does, every rapper too…sorry to break your rap purist view. I was there before too.
But the reality is, music and art as a whole is a collaborative process.
Now I’d say drake has written 80% of his discog, but that number may be lower or higher. No one knows.
But I def know that he’s ghostwritten a lot of songs. Being a avid listener of his music since 09 (middle school days) I can see when an artist has drake “similarities”, the thing is that he does not put his name on many records because of how it will look to the industry and fans. He’ll only be credited on the big artists songs (ie beyonce heated)
Big mama by latto is a recent song that has no credits to drake. OZ, a close producer for drake is credited however. But the weird thing is the flow and the lyrics on the first part just sound so much in the cadence of drake. Meaning he wrote it for latto from her perspective.
Am i reaching? Absolutely not, this post will age gracefully in say 10 years when they make a documentary of drake turning the ghostwriter s*** on its head. Revealing all the big songs he wrote.
What are some songs you think were ghostwritten by drake?
Let me know
P.S. f*** Kendrick
Maybe lower or higher? So you’re just guessing and have no f***ing idea what you’re talking bout. Got it.
Also you’re guessing because you’re a big fan he also ghostwrites
😂. Go take your pills buddy

I would be surprised if Drake was wasting his time writing for 21’s girlfriend or any other artist that wasn’t a star in their own right
fanfic thread created to cope with Drake using ghostwriters
At least he didn't plagiarize Twitter writers
Big Mama has Drake written all over it, TBH I really do think he actually wrote on it, like its no way Latto learned how to cosplay like him outta nowhere, and lets not forget he got sum going on with her sister
But I think in regards to his writing and the ghostwriting stuff, it sucks because the people who push the narrative that he doesn't write have never set foot inside of a studio, never wrote a lyric, and have no idea what they're talking about.
For starters, Drake is a genius songwriter himself. So like, any discussion regarding his writing starts there.
I think it's clear that he can write the classic drake rap stuff, and classic drake R&B stuff. Where he commissions assistance at, is new flows, cadences, ideas, that are beyond his typical scope. I.E. Mob Ties. Records that won't be on his greatest hits per se, but help get him through the next 6 to 12 months. Every song can't be "Too much" or "5am in Toronto" or "Marvin's Room."
The thing is though, and this is where people get it f***ed up at, just like writing is a skill, so to is being able to hear demos and realizing that it can work for you. There's plenty of acts that would have heard Jumbotron from Yatchy and passed on it.
What f***s people up is that Drake is literally a producer, writer, rapper, singer, all in one and it's like people can't comprehend a rapper being able to be all of that.
He should get more credit for his use of writers, not less because he himself is a great songwriter.
another case of him writing without credits is Baka's Body and A Face, that s*** slaps and it's basically a Pusha diss

I mean, w/the exception of the Drake and Brooklyn stuff, you can do this for a plethora of records that have dropped over the past decade
Just because a song is stylistically like Drake does not mean he wrote it lol

of course nobody can prove it but I really do believe it 🤷♂️
also OZ, Tay Keith and Kid Masterpiece on the production lol

most rappers when they wanna branch out to a new style just copy someone they like. drake actually hits them up and asks them to work w him on a song.
I think yall bugging out if you think an artist ain’t writing 80% of his lyrics and gets 20% from producers and anyone else in the studio to suggest some s***.
Every artist has “help”
Yeah drop and gimme 50

drake's big mama verse:
Let me try and keep it sexy for you, we can talk about that another time
Love yo' ass in the worst way, let you hit it on the first date
What you gon' do for Big Mama, for real?
What do I get for my birthday?
What do I get for my birthday?
What do I get for my birthday?
What do I get for my birthday?
You gotta put in some work today
Can you please do the most for me 'cause I'm sprung? (Sprung for you)
Can you give me some good d*** 'til I cum? (Cum for you)
Then can you make me nut again, where's your tongue? (Want for you)
