Noone is on top anymore. Everyone has his little group of favorite artists. There's no ruler. A Drake album gets forgotten in the public mind just as quickly as a Sampha album.

this thing about wlr isnt true by the way. I see it even more irl, im in uni rn and not even in an american city people literally play carti and walk up like "u heard that new carti" i havent met a single person in my age group who doesnt know who he is or whats happening. Respectfully, it sounds like someone whos not outside telling others what happens outside. Unless your like an older guy in which case yeah obviouslt you dont hear about carti lol

we can go anecdote for anecdote all day dawg, the point is that WLR was not bigger than CLB or DONDA, there is nothing that would possess someone to unironically say that other than stanning

carti isn’t an underground artist and obviously people check for him, but he doesn’t get as much attention as kanye or drake, let alone anyone out of the big 3

as for ye, hes more irrelevant than ever hes on the fall off i do wonder if carti would lap him after this album. But who knows
Drake is not really a needle pusher anymore, but his projects are still huge and hes still the biggest at the end of the day

And wouldn't you say the majority of Carti's fanbase is really white boys that love to rage and s***? The same way you say that white girls buying your album doesn't mean you're running the game, I'd say the same for Carti and his core demographic.
