He should drop Yves Slatt Laurent as a single, its viral on TikTok and in general a banger, would be good to have some preview of the album beforehand
What Drake lied about when heâs dropping music?
Iâm f***ing shocked
Literally fell to my knees right now
But not album promotion. Staying relevant is what all famous people do to stay famous. Releasing singles, giving album interviews, putting up billboards, selling merch, thatâs album promo, and heâs done next to none since the website came out. And the website hasnât been updated in 6 weeks.
Yeah thatâs where the disconnect is. Thatâs an album promo and I just feel like for some reason Drake relies on self promo more than the music. The tour is a reflection of that too. You hit it right on the nail.

Drake is not all famous people. He stopped doing press & all the industry s*** over a decade ago. Pretending like this isnât tied to the album doesnât make sense to me.

To join he has to jump these yitler and cumdrick stans

Iâm not a Ye stan lol I donât stan any artists
Iâm tired of these week long rollout campaigns tbh
Fr, I donât understand why rap fans are the only fans that have to deal with that bullshit.
Any other genre, artists are announcing a release date months in advance with the cover, title, and a single all ready to go.
Thereâs no reason why we should have absolutely no info about this album other than the title and it was announced almost two months ago

Niggas gonna violate but thatâs why I love Tylerâs approach to music. He doesnât say anything until itâs time for the album. His team doesnât tease anything until he makes the first move. You get a video, announcement, track names, artwork, then the album. Then he follows up immediately with more info + a tour. He keeps things simple but sweet.

Because âDrakeâ is the brand & itâs what heâs cared about most for a very long time.

Because itâs literally not tied to the album at all. He does not mention a word of the album except those few shows where he said heâs releasing it. If you have a studio album coming out wouldnât you at least talk about it in an interview? People who donât go to his shows or follow him closely have no idea an album is coming out.

He started doing that after Scorpion. The music always came first. We barely would hear or see him out like that.

Thatâs how all rollouts should be. Not cryptic dialed in bullshit.

Exactly, itâs always clean and efficient with Tyler.
Soon as his rollout starts, you know exactly what youâre getting and when youâre getting it.
Besides him and maybe Cole, I donât think thereâs a single other major mainstream rapper who doesnât either completely bullshit or force some mysterious silence with every album rollout
What else has he done thatâs album related seriously? Dog mask, and saying he has an album coming out at the concert. Thatâs literally it. None of the interviews mention the album a single time, the freestyle isnât a part of the album, and none of the features have anything to do with the album.
The dog mascot recently
Good news is at least he hasn't said anything about delays so no reason to think it wouldn't come this month. He also does not need to drop a single either
The funniest part about all this complaining is that as soon as the album drops, everyone is pressing play at midnight. There is no need for a proper rollout when that happens.

This is a music forum where can discuss all things music, have opinions and still be fans. Stop being dense lmao
You could also argue thereâs a reason that Tyler does his rollouts like that & itâs because he actually has to for the album to do well. He canât afford to wait until the day of for an Instagram post & sell 600k. Drake can.

Of course we are, we just donât like being dragged along and blue balled for months at a time while we get our 1000th dialed in post.

Whatâs dense about what I said? I said earlier today that his music management is embarrassing & it needs to be addressed. But if youâre Drake, why would you? Thereâs no reason to fix it if whatever you do is going to work for you.

Last time Drake did 600K was when he dropped an album that was highly anticipated for three years and actually had a short week-long rollout once the release date was announced

this.

Yep just because he CAN surprise release and get a lot of streams doesnât mean thatâs how he should it. He got what under 300,000 first week for honestly nevermind but a full week of promo for CLB gets him the best selling first week hip hop album of the decade. Why should he settle when he can continue to be the status quo?
