Even though this seems contrary to my post you replied to I agree that he will get criticized no matter what. I don’t think he can win on the critic front really.

I do think a lot of fans were underwhelmed by this album though and I think he should consider why. I do think lyrically this album was much weaker than usual.

I think the fact he’s been never been able to get credit from critics has played into us getting a weaker product this time because I think he is in the same mind state you’re referring to where he’s like “doesn’t matter what I do” and that (and other things) has culminated in him not trying as hard.

Agreed he needs a break and agreed he can’t really win with critics but I think fan response has always overridden critics but I think that’s slipped between this album and CLB.

I like most of both albums but this album I think some of the criticisms are valid on this one. Lyrically this is his weakest effort I think.

Yeah his pen on this song reminded me of how well some of the songs on HNVM were written
