It’s perfectly fine to love the album but it’s not like it’s immune to criticism and any critique is just people who are super out of touch

Just like said criticism is open for debate. There are certainly legit criticisms for this album, but “grow up” and “stop hanging out with younger generation” isn’t going to cut it for me. Especially when the people saying that are the same ones that will turn around and say “these established rappers never give looks to the youth”, etc. a lot of these “good faith” criticisms are really just veiled personal shots which is exactly why Drake responded to Budden’s comments about the “album”.

Album is very sleepy feeling (like the drake version of the cole music putting people to sleep), feel like he’s running out of ideas in a way and the production doesn’t hit for me s as much as i wish it did not to mention a lot of corny lines

That being said I like a lot of the songs and can appreciate them but they sound low energy which makes sense if this has been recorded on tour

also think it’s possible some of this disappointment is due to my own current mood as well

it’s another group of songs that barely make sense together and don’t feel like they live up to what they could’ve been, like when chrysler made that one car that looked just like the bentley

like i can put this album on and listen thru no problem but some of it feels like… background music, not really popping etc

It’s hard to sift through who is really critiquing the album vs who is just throwing shade out of spite and jealousy. That’s the disconnect over the past three weeks or so lol.
