I can’t believe they did this. So the first black rapper wins Artist of the Decade and they refuse to announce it?? Where is hip hop media to call Billboard out on this bullshit??? This some dirty racist s*** for real
it's postponed. calm down lol
I don't think that's why. I think they want to make a big deal out of it. That's why they were teasing it out and revealing one name in the top 10 every month but no one really cared about that because people had seen the full list already. COVID ruined their plans for a big award night reveal and it seems they're not interested in giving out the award virtually to the winner. I doubt they've scrapped it totally because minus the Artist of the Decade award, they also have decade-end lists they have to reveal on their website but time is already running out. Giving out that award 2 years after the decade is over will be wack and no one will care about it by then.
I didn't say it was because of that either. That would be such a dumb thing to say. I just said it has been looking weird since then.
@op
It's coming at 2021 BBMAs now.

LET’S F***ING GOOOOOOOO
Tbh the 2020 BBMA was a s*** show that got horrible ratings due to the bad planning, delays, and lack of any audience.
2021 BBMAs will hopefully be executed much better so atleast he gets it during a much better circumstance.
Also this will tie in to the CLB album era and we'll likely get a 10~ minute performance or something. Will be good to promote the tour also.
If they follow the normal schedule it's coming April I suppose.
Why would they announce this now if the show wasn’t airing until Aril

They also originally started to reveal the Decade-End lists during December 2019, with a planned finish at the BBMAs which was originally April 2020. BBMAs is done in April every year.
2020 ended up getting moved due to the fact the pandemic/lockdowns literally ramped up that month and they had very little warning, but now they are probably already planning everything for 2021 in advance with the pandemic in mind.

That s*** still seem weird to me lol announcing half the list 5 months in advance 😂
Seem like that would be some s*** you would announce 2 weeks before the show to build hype if you ask me but what do I know

@op it’s happening on May 23rd
Artist of the Decade award got kind of iffy because Taylor Swift snuck in an album last minute. Hope he gets it!

He's getting it. Lover dropped in August 2019 and the tracking for the decade ended in September 2019 with Drake having a considerable lead.
Bb based on sales so Drake can only win right?
Or maybe Adele lol
It's based on chart points, which are accumulated over time.

So then its Drake too right?
Who charted more?

Yeah. He's getting it. The entire list leaked back in 2019.
It's not really based on how many songs or albums you chart but how well they chart. Basically, the higher you get your songs/albums to chart for as long as possible throughout a particular decade, the better your chances.

The Swifties about to be in shambles.
