Champagne poetry kinda like the victory lap to close out the era, like he at the top of the game and has really nothing left to proof so he can focus on find on his soulmate
Papi’s home pretty explanatory by the title, kinda cementing/establishing the start of new trilogy
Fair Trade def got nothing to do with it either man lmfao I think son just be talking out of his ass cause there’s no way CLB ties into any of the other two albums cause CLB in itself isn’t a concept album and doesn’t have a consistent theme to it
he's saying this because of the titles but musically and thematically the songs dont back it up
CLB is much more toxic and anti-love than HNVM imo. HNVM feels more like a "chase."

fair enough i kinda jus made that up ngl :p

Better than NWTS, Take Care, IYRTITL, and More Life?

yuhh, p close with take care tho
A combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking.

I know everyone that tells me they love me doesn’t love me all the time especially when im doing better than alright & they have to watch it from whatever point they at in their life
I got here being realistic
I didn’t get here being blind
I know whats what and especially what and who is by my side
to
Her loss
but how does it tie in to it being a trilogy? There’s no consistent theme on CLB at all.
Y'all box up records with concrete rules and regulations. These albums don't need specific characters like The Weeknd or a linear storyline like Kendrick. It can be a loose idea that have nods and thematic similarities - which all three do in loneliness, treachery and jealousy.
Certified like the artist himself said, is him showcasing the chase & you hear in songs like Pipe Down, Race My Mind to name a couple. I could go on about the other two..
Drake just isn't privy to the luxury of isolating an entire section of his fanbase to give us a pretentious and conscious record with a date on when an "era" will begin and end.

Those are like a few songs in the album that have themes tied to love though. You can’t call it a trilogy if there’s a majority of songs that don’t relate to one another. It’s just an album of songs that he wanted to mesh together lol you got two Kanye diss songs on an album you’re saying has to do with being a Lover Boy
Honestly I'm shocked at how well this works as a trilogy. I already considered Her Loss a sequel to Honestly Nevermind personally but CLB as the first in a trilogy works for me

Did you actually listen to the album or just picked a few songs to listen to and dismissed the rest of the album? Cause did you actually listen to F***ing Fans, IMY2, Yebba's Heartbreak, Pipe Down, N 2 Deep, TSU, Get Along Better, Race My Mind, Fountains, The Remorse, Girls Want Girls, Fair Trade, In The Bible, & Love All. Have you listened to any of these songs? That's basically the WHOLE ALBUM.
nah clb def isn’t part of a trilogy that album barely even consistent as it is how can it tie to two albums that dont sound like a playlist thrown together which was clb

It's a Drake major studio album, of course it's gonna be scattered. You're micro-analyzing it too hard. It has enough relevant songs and themes to at least loosely round out the trilogy
He definitely decided this retrospectively
Definitely at least after CLB while working on HNVM. But maybe even recently.. and that's alright
fair enough i kinda jus made that up ngl :p

drake also just made it up too

no drake albums aren’t this scattered even more life flows more like an album than that does

I don’t think it’s necessarily a narrative-driven trilogy. More like they’re connected by overarching themes. I may be wrong but I don’t think Drake set out to make three projects that are directly tied to one another. They’re just kinda connected, with the titles and vibes more than anything. It’s a cool way to mark this period of Drake’s career but I don’t think it’s too deep
amazing trilogy 🫶
thank u drake
