This was already addressed. Alcohol is regulated in such a way that protects minors from obtaining it legally and easily. Of course there’s ways around it

Stake and other crypto sites are designed in such a way that anyone who knows how to use a computer and has access to a credit card load their crypto wallet, and deposit the funds in to the site. No age verification. You can even put in fake name and address.

It doesn’t matter, if even one kid gets addicted to gambling because of Drake (which they will), that morally indefensible

Explain that to the thousands of teenage kids signing up to Stake and gambling with moms credit card, beating that need into their brain for years to come. It is EXTREMELY simple to sign up for the site. Literally 0 identity verification in the process

It’s easy for you to say that cus it’s easier to hold the young impressionables responsible instead of holding the enablers with all the power responsible.

It’s literally young kids we are talking about. Not grown ass adults

Brain dead drake stan’s will scroll by posts like this just to say “Lol i bet u lost money haha”

predatory nature this predatory nature that

I've never gambled in my life and I never will. Don't give a s*** who gets on stake or who streams what. People around me drank and smoked and did d**** from day 1 and yet I've been straight edge my whole life.

At the end of the day it's up to the individual. We need to start promoting the idea of taking responsibility for your own actions. We need to strengthen the will of the people. Too many weak individuals that wanna blame everything on streamers and s***. Man up, nobody is forcing you to do anything.

    ......... post :)

In total, it has been reported that somewhere between five percent and 40 percent of problem gamblers in any kind of treatment- or help-seeking contact report a history of a suicide attempt (11).Nov 16, 2020

Just to get your point! You have an issue with gambling itself which would be an issue with the policies that allowed gambling online in the first place.

The promotion of gambling is problematic because the market is not regulated to the extent alcohol and other vices are. Which is also a policy issue in my opinion.

I have the feeling you are arguing a proxy war on the back of Drake.

I go back to intent: Why did Stake pick Drake as a spokesperson in your opinion?

Here is why I think they did it. Drake is avid gambler and speaks often about his gambling history on his songs meaning there is a brand fit.
He is also loved by sports media outlets and gets attention for almost every minute thing he does e.g. the Drake curse. Therefore him betting on sports gets a headline every time.

Based on my points the target audience that they are trying to reach is the 25 - 45yr old male who is a sports fan that has money to spend.

Which does not make it a twitch streamers influencing a young audience thing.

Once again I understand your frustration with gambling itself I just think that it is not that bad of a look due to a given brand fit.

    No, i love gambling.

Today i learned drakes main fanbase outreach is 25-40 year olds so it’s a good idea for him to advertise on a streaming platform used majority by 12-18 year olds

    Got it

Another issue is that what Drake is doing isn’t a fair representation of gambling. The money he’s using is not his own technically. It’s Stake sponsored money. money he wouldn’t be receiving unless he agreed to promote the site and use the site publicly.
