How can you possibly value the former over the latter.

Experimental doesn’t always mean better. In this case imo they both dropped good albums that could’ve been great if it was shorter
Mm I don't even necessarily mean experimental, I just mean distinct to each project or era. You could shuffle around almost any Drake song and it wouldn't sound out of place but if you did that for a Kanye song it would be jarring.
And Kanye always does lots of classic sounding hip hop, just not on Donda.

CLB better imo
The immaculate production on Donda doesn’t make it less of a slog and I can’t see myself going back to aside from Jail 2 and the Durk track
Already on my third CLB play, feels like he really did take it to heart how cohesive NWTS was relative to his other albums.

S***ty part is Drake had the perfect mix of experimental and classic sound on the mixtapes and first 3 records. IYRTITL leaned more on modern trap but he was inspired and hungry and it worked. From there, idk what happened
