Havent revisited 808's in ages
Reported
drake has gotten more out of this tho
beef with kanye has breathed life into his shaky album rollout
that’s a good point actually
What would the rollout for this album even be if he didn’t diss Kanye on that Trippie song lmao

A heart in his hair
Need to give CLB more of a listen to really say, but atm Donda.
They both suffer from having a lot of fat, and not being properly sequenced

Besides Light Up, Hov features have been underwhelming when featured with Drake. It’s like he holds back or something so this ain’t nothing new.
CLB is about to hit different once chopped n screwed version arrives tho
I hope DJ Slim K is already working on one
That break up with Kim really breathed air into that Donda rollout, oh and the stadium bullshit
CLB suffers a lot from its mix IMO. You can’t have drake going in for the majority of the album with a laid back flow and also have the mix suck. The secret sauce where Drake always SOUNDS good regardless of what he is saying is gone on this album.
DONDA may be bloated a bit but the mix, production and energy are all A1 on the entire thing. Kanye and the features always sound amazing, making cornball lines like “Dustin, he a Hoffman” still hit hard.
As a piece of music, DONDA is leagues better.
Can someone tell me what the hacker marketing stunt on sports center was for
s*** had no relation to clb whatsoever
U bring up good points.
I feel like the overall album is dark though, kanye himself sounds very morose. and plus the way its sequenced. It gives off dark experimental vibes
Ahh well my sequencing and opinion is completely based off the sequencing of the 2nd listening party bc that’s the order I still have it in
I just plugged the extra songs in from the official drop
And even the morose feeling on DONDA, compared to CLB and just any drake music in general, seems more like a confessional at the church at 11am
Yes maybe a reflection on dark times, but it’s being reflected on from the vantage point of being in the light
“You want dreams to come true? But I have nightmares (Lord)
'Cause if that come to life, then I might not be right here
Been in the dark so long, don't know if the light here
But I'm just reaching for the stars like Buzz Lightyear (Jesus)
And now I'm lightyears ahead of those nightmares (Lord)
I deaded those night terrors when the night clears”
