Anyone else feel like if he had stronger singing skills, that many songs people call mid would be called amazing in fact.
Was listening to KTFC and I remember people saying it was boring, I thought what if he had like the weeknds singing skill, it would have been praised
Drake’s singing ability would be seen differently if he used vibrato. It’s passable as is but it would be seen as at least good
To a certain degree yes
You know what I mean? Like if he had crazy vocal chops people would really appreciate his songwriting

I listened to ktfc earlier today too & was thinking it could be a bond theme tune with more expressive singing & broader range

Not saying vibrato per say, but its obvious abel can do things with his voice drake can't. Hit certain notes, sustain longer. Just has a much greater singing ability

A broader range I think is what I'm trying to say, he can be pretty expressive when he likes

Oh I know what you’re saying and you’re right, but the lack of vibrato is definitely what makes Drake’s singing an immediate flashing target for jokes

Oh your saying it would be better with vibrato, yeah totally agree
Also if he could do nice runs wouldn't hurt, I mean he has the money to hire a teacher lol and I'm pretty sure his voice has room to grow range wise dont see why he has not pushed himself
No.
Believe it or not Drakes limited singing ability is what makes the songs unique and have they own tone.
If he sang like the a traditional singer the songs would flop.
It’s why nobody who can sing better than him has as many hits in rap or r&b as him.

I thought about this too actually, because the fact that his songs are easy to sing to make them fun to hear.
But if he did have traditional singing skills it's not like he can't control it lol
He could turn it up when the song needed it and off for certain songs

I have to say drake was gifted to God with a beautiful voice, his rapping voice is the coolest I ever heard out of any rapper and when he does hooks like Aston Martin music oh baby

"The melodies are better than you would think. That's what draws me to them. It's between the incredible melodies that he uses — and they're very much his kind of melodies; they sit between the same register all the time. That's what makes them special, I guess — and then he's got this insane vocal pocket."

This is a good point

I don't think so.
I've long held the belief that at least in the Hip-Hop / R&B sphere, a great vocalist is not only not necessary, but a hindrance to the point of the song.
Drake (and others) use melody, production, and their solid, low register singing voices to highlight the songwriting, and a great vocalist would do the opposite of that.
It helps to not think of Drake's singing as "singing," at least I don't. It's more so just a different vehicle to get to the end goal, a great record with gorgeous melodies and an infectious hook.
