Such a horrible genre of music.

    Exploited death chaos and destruction

Gave the rise to parasites like Adam 22

The music was MID to TRASH for the most part

Gave so many lost youth the incentive to broadcast violence and crime for internet clout and money.

There is literrally only two outcomes to that genre. AND we have seen it with damn near EVERY single star in it.

WHEN ARE PEOPLE GONNA WAKE THE F*** UP?

Those have been themes in hip hop since the 90s.

Drill music is the genre that decided to make that the CENTRAL theme. Damn near the only theme

People said the same thing verbatim about G Funk in the late 80's and early-mid 90's.

The music is a byproduct of a lifestyle. Same thing with trap music. They were never meant to be mainsteam and both of them got oversaturated because people who don't live said lifestyles appropriated it.

Y’all have to stop with this take.

The music doesn’t exist without the people creating, this very specific kind of music is having a terrible negative effect on the youth.

It’s okay to enjoy it, it’s okay if you personally can separate entertainment from reality. Most of these kids can’t. Especially the ones that are living in hell and can relate to it.

I can go on an entire rant about the negative effect rappers like Wayne had on me specifically as a teenager. I still like the music till this day. But as a teen it absolutely had a negative effect on me to a degree and I won’t deny that.

This is one of those topics where people will be obtuse about the negative effects because they like the music so much.

Majority of people refuse to acknowledge the negative effects of any vice they personally digest or partake in.

    Real.

Chicago era drill at least sounded good, gave us Chief Keef who pushed boundaries heavily. But this new stuff is literally all f***ing trash. I hate that stupid f***ing flow that got popular where it's like a flow that overlaps and is horribly off beat. It's literally unlistenable

That's true. The quality difference is undeniable.

But people criticized the content and influence more or less the same.

Does art imitate life or does life imitate art? It’s both. Drill music probably does contribute in some way to desensitizing people to violence but it certainly can’t be anywhere as responsible for it as the systemic and social structures that lead to it.

  • Oct 25, 2024

wish there was a feasible solution but the violence and music is unfortunately entertaining and very profitable for all parties

i said lets blame the people themselves not the music itself, learn how to read,

wayne wouldn't have had such a bad influence on you, if you had proper media literacy and guidance

    not the music fault's

blaming art for people's actions is the corniest s***

nowhere in my post did i say dont blame the people making the music, but blaming the music itself is so f***ing lame.
