Yall will always find something
Drake gives a focused full rap album with age appropriate content like yall supposedly wanted but now it’s the similes and the beat switches that’s the problem. Riiiiight
Bang on. For years they just want the boy to spit. Then he spits and now they're...mad at him for using literary devices?
When will they admit they're just envious of his run and sick of his domination for the past 15 or so years
it was drake stans polluting the forum with threads about how boring rap is and how much we need iceman
You checked the charts pre-Iceman? Rap was having its worst run in decades. It wasn't just KTT lmfao

no man i dont check nor do i care about the charts 👍
I think people who hate similes and wordplay are ruining rap discourse.
Imagine this thread about Carter 3 “Wayne spamming similes, I’m rare like Mr clean with hair? Really?
cringe”
it’s more like making a thread about The Carter 4 (which i do enjoy) being an album of endless bad puns and non-sequitors
no man i dont check nor do i care about the charts 👍
Probably should care in this context as it is indicative of the health of the genre.

not necessarily, that's a superficial a***ysis
That's cap man wtf
Tried our Best is a holy grail moment
so is greedy
what are we doing bruh
Its just pure nostalgia bias for a lot of them. I get it, I'm in my mid 20's. Those albums dropped when I was a kid. I was banging Draft Day, Heat of the Moment, Paris Morton Music, Trust issues.
But you're 100% right. His technical skill of rapping is just as good as ever.
Dare I say Make Them Pay is a top 3-5 Drake rap track.
Legitimately the one criticism I think is valid is his vocal mixing choice. The autotune is just so much on some of his songs. But it isn't as evident on Iceman at least as his other post-DLDT work.
And he clearly still has the voice because Tried Our Best is one of his best R&B songs ever. I don't know why he chooses to use such a strong autotune on some tracks.
My oldhead take of the day.
And yet like someone already said
If Drake dropped “so I’m necklace-less like a necklace theft” today
Twitter and a lot of yall would clown it
Real recognize real…
Alot of people miss the point
Drake verse on Rich Flex is one of the top 20 rap verses ever
Drake annoys me but he is just undeniably one of the best when he wants to be
not necessarily, that's a superficial a***ysis
Charts = $$$$$
If rap completely falls off the charts and goes the way of rock in the mid 2000's, that is simply bad for the game.
His ghost writers have lost all the motivation atp.
LMFAOOOO YOU GOT THE WHOLE THREAD DYING
Eh...its fine to me.
Punchline rap in general is tough to be consistent in. Even the greatest ones have some forced bars.
Papoose, for example, is notorious for having both the greatest and most trash bars in hip hop simultaneously.
He has some great lines but yeah he’s for sure overdoing that and the same blase I’m too cool to be rattled (but I’m actually rattled) type flow
