i was in a dark place when i heard it initially
in listening to it today, i can more clearly see what he was going for
i would still prefer more energy though...
purely delivery wise
the raps are great
the beats are to taste
but i just feel like what made earl great
was he was a monster on beats
and i just miss that

It’s more about how he mixes his vocals tbh but it’s an intentional thing
Man got that weird monk rap cadence that jay had on 4:44 but he’s still in his 20s
Nothin wrong w it though it’s fire a lot of the time. Couldn’t stand when mavi destroyed el toro and then his verse was glitched to s*** though

mothershipWeren’t they recorded around the same time? I almost consider SRS and solace to be double albums. Solace is rock bottom and SRS is him coming out of that
No Solace was recorded throughout early 2015 and SRS was worked on and off from December 24th 2015 all the way to it's release in 2018.
