Remember in the midst of Covid when we all thought that oh no all the mid covid bars that gonna come after gonna be corny
Earl got the best covid bar, bar none
The madness method rampant these days, I let the panic pass me
Featherweight, my heart was straight despite baggage

Oh my god what’s going on here
I think if there’s one thing I’ve learned from that interview is that this man does things on his own terms. Like the whole thing of having songs he only does live and scrapping a 19 track political album,we just need to realize he’ll do what he wants, when he wants and let’s just enjoy & appreciate the ride and what comes with it & his growth.

I no longer have expectations since 2018 and I'm better off since
It’s crazy that he saying he scrapped an optimistic album and made an album called Sick because he felt the optimistic one wasn’t true to how he was feeling. Is he saying he felt pressure to make positive music?
What he said about doing songs only for shows makes sense. If he released them officially people would complain about how it doesn’t sound like the live version. Glad he finally cleared that situation up. Great interview overall.
I respect that he has s*** he just wants to perform, but it would be cool if he just never performed it and kept it in the vault instead😭. Among his other unreleased songs that evilgiane song is way too fire to not get released, hopefully it comes out as a feature or something
“ Yes, and I ain’t going to lie, that s*** was like … I was rapping, rapping, on every single song. But my whole thing is grading things on the truth, you know what I mean? However expansive or detailed the truth is. The album I was working on before had a really optimistic energy towards it, but it felt gross. It felt political, like a mayoral campaign.”
While I probably would have enjoyed this type of album from Earl, I respect how much he follows his creative intuition. Real artist.

I didn’t see it as that. I saw it like Earl has been in a positive space past few years and wanted to reflect that with an optimistic outlook, but he realized the world around him is still in turmoil with everything going on and that kind of album of optimism just didn’t feel right. Plus the fact that sonically it must of been too similar to srs/foc. The official album statement makes a lot more sense after this interview.

This is why he’s one of my favorite artists

He scrapped a 19 track album.
F***.
Just the title alone is so much better, this is up there with the worst effects of COVID in all honesty. Idk why they have to tell us in the rollout that another longer album with a better title was scrapped, just drop this and don’t tell us and I’d be happier. Now I’m gonna just be wanting this other one

He’s lowkey full of s*** tho because his other statement about it basically said that COVID was the reason that the optimistic album didn’t work, and he’s leaving that out here
