Some good points in here by @DwindlingSun and @2words that I wanna respond to. I think Earl is sometimes his worst enemy because as much as the brevity thing works well, I think he undersells himself a lot. Like to go from a 19 track album to 10 tracks is understandable for the reason he gave but seriously, the man has so much s*** in the vault he could slap on there or he could have recorded more if it didn’t fit the vision. Second, him mentioning the scrapped album was confusing to me too, especially because he knows how much people fiend for the unreleased s***, like what was the point of alienating a angsty fanbase even further lol anyway SICK! Out tonight
I guess he did genuinely want to explain why a lot of s*** people have been fiending for didn't make the cut. Tho of course it doesn't make us crave the unreleased s*** any less

If that was his goal then I feel like he just makes it worse by giving an album title, number of tracks and concept lol, for me that’s way worse than some songs that were previewed not making it, I expect that and don’t mind

Article from 2021, the title said the next album was gonna be 21 minutes long according to The Alchemist
I don’t remember this
Just curious, where do you guys rank "Doris" in Earl's overall catalog? Is it his best album? Second best? Weakest one?
Where do you guys place that particular album at?
Pretty much got better w every album but srs > foc

Nah Al never said anything about the length. They made that up or misinterpreted something

This one talks about the album
That Bradley Beal Comp is some of the weirdest s*** I’ve ever heard him say
I’m floored lol

for me it's one of my fav albums oat and a masterpiece but at the same time I think he matured so much artistically with every subsequent release so it's difficult
SRS kind of his magnum (even tho not so magnum) opus
FOC imo takes some of it artistically even further similarly great
Doris could be here
also sometimes put IDLS above tho because his own production adds so much
or put Solace above both
all of them were my fav Earl projects at different points and are masterpieces imo
Earl the easiest to place at bottom because it's so immature and rough (tho still remarkable for what it was)
That interview makes it sounds like he’s tryna do that “outside” album he had planned for after Doris or w/e with the hits
Dunno how I feel about it as a fan of the music but it’s very heart warming to see where he is as a person
praying he's announcing another project with Black Noi$e 🙏 but already grateful we're getting another new track tonight

laced..... love Bootleg so much too... will probably need to revisit this tonight
amazing album. Gremlin very underappreciated too tbh, a lot of my fav Zel tracks on there

Nah Al never said anything about the length. They made that up or misinterpreted something
Well they weren’t far off anyway
EARL is not considered a “studio” album (never was either iirc), hence making Sick! his fourth studio album.
Earl probably reading this thread and wondering why his fans gotta be this lame arguing over some s*** like this hahaha

Doesn’t really matter but he considers it an album unless he changed his mind since this
Haven't been this exited for an album in a long time. It just feels good knowing an artist is gonna deliver quality material. I might be banned tonight because of a bet tho so if that happens I will return here in a week and drop my in-depth thoughts.
