Its my first listen off a long day so I'm just in for the vibes hopefully I rock with it
Oh you’re in for a great night bro enjoy
Why Zeeloperz sound like 2013 ScHoolboy Q
album is good but it’s not as creative as SRS was production wise. that’s still the earl opus
I wouldn’t really call the production on SRS particularly creative besides Nowhere2Go, it was just the slums sound
Blending that and trap like on here is more creative
I'm really feeling this album. Much more upbeat album. Only negative I can say is the the title song felt out of place.

Literally nowhere2go is the only slums sound on that album. I think Earl uniquely sampling himself in different time signatures and the texture is way more creative

That first statement is insane lmao
Old Friend
2010
Vision
Lobby
Fire in the hole
Flames. Matter of fact this whole album is flames I cant lie.

It was the slums sound but done better than the slums. He advanced the sound imo.

Mike been rappin on trap beats for years this still slums sound lol

You’re not wrong tbh but I always felt like Mike was kinda unique in that way. I still think this project is more creative than SRS, the most creative thing about SRS is the transitions. Other than that I just consider SRS a conservative straight forward rap record like the title implies. This is a little more creative but not reinventing the wheel either. Which is cool cause that’s not what I come to earl for
People not talking enough about him finally addressing OF on Vision, the deepest I’ve heard him go into it in a song
I’m not catching it really besides the dirt with the clique line?
Help me out a bit
if I understand correctly-- he's playing on hometown holding you down / having your back, but by saying "like a rock" drily subverts it into the exact opposite, literally holding him down/ sinking him like a rock. Then says he's skipping town (leaving) but also with the stone metaphor gives that a release by comparing with skipping stones (like on a lake), which gives the stone sinking/weighing down a great positive flip to flying/ also like saying he throws away what burdens him.
Jesus Christ, this man is insane

I'm rewinding the album rn and yeah that's the case for me too
Oh you’re in for a great night bro enjoy

I don't like Vision at all
I’m not catching it really besides the dirt with the clique line?

“I did some dirt wit a clique
Went and got clicked by myself
Couldn’t belittle myself
Could it be y’all weak as hell?
…
I had the vision myself
…
They clouded me at a standstill
I picked up a penny and left”
These lines and the ones surrounding it he’s talking about his decision to leave OF and to me it feels like he’s putting emphasis on not wanting to be a player in Tyler’s vision and wanted to build his own. Couldn’t belittle himself by being Tyler’s number 2 little brother. Also definitely called Tyler/OF weak as hell lol

It’d be weird if he was calling tyler weak, him and tyler are still friends
