Tabula Rasa still my favorite s*** on here. Everyone did their thing and Earl went nutz
joe still mad about this. plus he hates anything thats not generic
joe doesn't seem the type to only like generic stuff. he's just a hater, everyone been know
I know we're talking about the new album rn but man, Grief gotta be top 5 most powerful songs ever made. That s*** is almost dangerous to listen to

was just saying Greif might be my favorite Earl song today

the outro really is the cherry on top, it's so jarring and makes you want to run that s*** back. almost every time I play IDLSIDGO I have to play Grief 2-3 more times before going through the rest
What’s everyone’s favorite? I keep floating between fire in the hole, lye and old friend
Kind of mid after a few listens tbh
The trap songs are crazy and I don’t think there are any weak cuts on here
But it definitely doesn’t feel like a statement in the same way that SRS does
Think he should’ve gone all the way with songs like 2010, lobby, and titanic, or just kept it like fire in the hole and tabula rasa, the mix between the two sounds doesn’t work for me, at least not in the way it was presented here

agree with you tbh

grief feels like a brick wall man. the song has an aura unlike anything else

i don’t think it’s mid but i’m definitely having trouble jumping between the two sounds. i thinks that’s largely in part to the unified themes on his previous albums. I think i’ll get used to it with my listens though.
I'm having a hard time with this album. I love all the individual songs, but I'm having a hard time with this as an album as a whole ya know. I like it alot, but it just feels like its not one unified style like the rest of his albums. maybe it's because i listened to the singles so much...
Feel this 100% I like the songs a lot but the sequencing kinda sucks it’s too all over the place, like lobby to god laughs to titanic to fire in the hole doesn’t flow well at all lol

maybe moving God Laughs after Tabula Rasa would make things a little smoother (impossible to test tho because the end of tabula rasa is still playing at the start of lye)
this my fav earl record since doris
so short but no skips
def no skips. just trying to wrap my head around some of the sequencing decisions

i feel that. transition from old friend to 2010 was top tier tho
Am I the only one that keeps confusing billy woods with elucid on tabula rasa. Be thinking elucid got 2 verses

absolutely. first half sequencing is great. i wouldn’t even say the sequencing is bad. i’m just used to such intentional ordering from him. I suppose it makes sense for the more accessible sound on this one.

their voices have always sounded similar.
