Maybe last year n the first time was maybe like 7 years ago? Doesn’t have a reason to come up a lot but it seems more pejorative to me than anything.
U guys love rap but assume the worst for how people use words? Ok
homie you don't gotta come at us all lugubrious like that

yeah it's a mental illness so it's also just kind of weird use in context (which doesn't help writer looking like he just wanted to use a fancy word).
or if he meant it as in verbosity that's not even fitting at all either because "writing that uses more words than necessary" is actually the exact opposite of what Earl is doing lol.
bottom line writer wanted to look cool and failed

Had to use thesaurus a few times while reading this article
how we all feeling about the album two months on?
I finally stopped playing it daily at the start of this month I was over playing the f*** out of it. The most immediate click any earl album has had on me and I been here for all of em. Top 2 Earl album for sure, but it’s strengths really play to what I like so it’s my favorite as of now. 10 tracks all heat, short and sweet just like Alfredo, various in style but strongly thematically connected. Easily aoty so far

I'm currently going through that phase of overplaying it, I think all the strengths you mentioned are what had me coming back to it too even though I have it below SRS and IDLS its short and sweet and almost feels like a triumphant project which was necessary after SRS
"Sweatshirt’s music tends toward logorrhea, and I expected him to be loquacious in person."

In March 2012, an XXL photo shoot for the most blog-famous act in rap spontaneously became the backdrop for a music video. Ten years later, Tyler, Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, and others reflect on the viral clip and what it meant.

Had to stop myself when those drums came in, I wanna try to hear this project fresh. I hope it’s coming soon
