who the hell is mike
A great rapper/producer. A huge inspiration on earls sound post idlsidgo
I don't. God Laughs into Titanic, then back into Fire in the Hole, is an egregiously jarring sequence imo.
Thats the point...
alc did some puzzle type s***
Is it this? I was hoping this was in reference to the 2nd older album hidden on youchube

mike getting inspired by idlsidgo to create music that would inspire earl's next album might be one of the most beautiful 'moments' in genre's history
I don’t know how to explain it but the brevity on SRS and FOC works to its advantage but Sick! does not feel like a proper LP despite being a similar length

Its probably because it dips into different styles. I personally like the way it bounces around but def could have used a few more tracks and maybe another feature for what it was going for
I 100% agree with this
clean in what way? like the mixing? or the way he chopped the sample?
I love Grief man
That song was such a shock and departure when it dropped along with the album announcement and continues to stun me to this day.
I feel like that track lowkey spearheaded a lot of the dirtier sounding underground s*** we have today. Like this was towards the end of the era where every mainstream album sounded high budget and crisp and clean and s***. Who would think to drop that as a single
Edit: it just occurred to me after 8 years that Guild lowkey was the prequel to this song sonically. Either way that’s a deep cut so that don’t count towards what I’m saying
Last thing
Thank God Doris was made before Frank decided to be a mysterious diva because Sunday is such a wonderful and unique gem in Earl’s discography
idk if its just me but on Sentry MIKE is doing this thing where you have to 'adjust your ears' to hear his flow 'in flow' with the melody because otherwise it sounds like he's off rhythm. like when I first heard the song I thought the cadence is too robotic and doesn't match but if you actually listen to the instrumental 'together' with the lyrics you find its totally in sync and makes sense
maybe its because there are no drums. I hear it sometimes with other music like when they do blast beats in extreme metal and it escapes groove and becomes super 'robotic' and kinda weird. idk if its a phenomenon and if theres a word for it but I been hearing it forever
I’m gonna be hurt if neither drake or Earl drop tonight
I like the idea of drake and earl dropping on the same day because its interesting how they came from a similar early 10s period but represent such different approaches and accessibility levels to their music
u were gonna go..?
it's on tomorrow but can't get there until it might be too late, not sure if worth the risk because it's a bit out of the way

F*** outta here!
I was joking because 3 people had said ‘sentry ft Mike was out’ back to back, and I thought a chain was starting where people keep saying it in different ways but it just looked like I didn’t know who Mike was lol

🔥🔥
i dont think they ever went on sale? it's all just walkups?
Nah there were non walk-up tickets too
It’s so nice of Earl to give these small rappers an opportunity
In 2018 it would have been acceptable to say some s*** like this but mike literally been on for a few years now and earl been supporting for a minute now…
