KoradyI've had the opinion for years that there's no great rap names if you really think about it. We all just accept it because it's not actually important.
Idk bout that, there are for sure some dope ones. It’s def not important, just kinda an interesting point about him as an artist

I mean he named his album “some rap songs”
If anything the name “earl sweatshirt” adds to how nonchalant he is
it’s dope tbh. he’s a GOAT poet, his art is moving, poignant, but he presents it as if it’s just some rap songs from earl sweatshirt

Everything depends on how the rapper conducts themselves, like Young Thug only works so well because of his personality I’d say same goes for Earl
And yet Young Thug isn't a clever name at all. Not a knock on him, just rap names in general aren't super dope. They're just names and we accept them, which was my original point.

Imo, Elucid, R.A.P. Fereira, Estee Nack, Mach-Hommy, Navy Blue are all cool names. and if we talking groups, Armand Hammer, Dr. Yen Lo, Metal Clergy

Idk I always loved it. It's just really stupid, but he kinda normalized it and I respect him for still rocking that name lol. But with the change of his twitter handle too I think he might switch to Thebe Kgositsile or just Thebe sometime. Or just Earl because everyone already calls him that (and that is a really cool name tbh)
