He’s only getting better with time
he lowkey always been on some chosen one s***, born the son of an African poet, already outrapping everyone at 16... u right tho it's mostly since SRS era that he really came into his own, and he's still growing
man I need that one so badly too
kinda counted that more as a Mavi track tho, needs to be seen on who's project it'll land - best case it's a collab album
I believe its on Earl's. Mavi confirmed as much when someone asked him about it on twitter and he said its on Earl to drop.
CFG recording is a perfect live album

listened to this whole thing so many times during Covid

“People haven’t been offered too many visions of what something else looks like out here,” he explains. “That’s basic capitalism, bro. They tell you, there is no other way. That’s one of the first and most powerful lies. They tell you to play the game. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes! You haven’t even evaluated which game you’re playing.”
“People are dynamic,” he insists. “People can change. Motherfuckers forget this. And you can change really fast – that’s the other bit that people forget. Change is looked at as some super arduous task, but if you’re humble enough to allow yourself a eureka moment you can be totally different than you were three minutes ago. Just look at what’s happening with rap music as a culture. How many times have we said we would staunchly not adopt something, and then we did? People are dynamic. Culture is dynamic. Let’s have these eureka moments and change for the better.”
“I’ve got a lot of s***, bro. It’s just about putting it together now and presenting it. I think people are going to be excited. It’s a full plate for people. A full meal.”
“The more you have to use your s*** to survive and protect yourself, the harder it is to access the part of yourself that doesn’t have to be on guard. The peaceful part of you.”
“A higher faculty of God wills joy. Joy that’s not based on success or failure. Decisive joy. That s*** is some next level s***, bro. Joy emanating from the will. One day, bro. I’m close!”

Ish is what the rapper goes by, FKA Butterfly (in Digable Planets)
Am i reading too much into it or does he mean that the album is gonna be long and diverse when he says "it's a full plate for people" I just have this weird feeling we're gonna get like a 20 track album
EDIT: I also think it's being mixed, mastered and finished up at Alchemist studio cause that nigga been posted over there multiple times recently

I think that's mostly just a hint he's on a full-length, I dunno what to expect there in terms of length, all of his projects are usually really concise. But who knows maybe he intentionally does it differently this time
